why did u guys still hope dogecoin will rise into $1 per coin.. imho, it wont at least 1 decade more.. but idk, maybe it willr each $1 next year.. and i will be so rich, even can buy lambo.. with dogecoin. lol

Devs need to be convinced to Add RSK(Smartcontracts) and lightining network(Unsure of Segwit) functionality to the dogecoin blockchain(just like BTC and LTC are doing atm). I believe then DOGE will skyrocket both in Usage and in price.

Question is how many developers are currently involved to make it happen in a reasonable time frame? DOGE needs more active development

at the moment, no dev, they have all canceled their participation to DOGE. You can also find a youtube video with the creator of DOGE saying that he will never continue dev DOGE. make a search on youtube

That would be ok if someone took over, but nobody seems to want to do it, so Doge is just a meme unfortunately. I quite liked the coin, but it doesn't really offer anything anymore in face of all the competition.

And it's perhaps impossible to change what once made it so strong in a trustworthy way. As you said it is just a meme and it is like a stigma and nobody would really believe DOGE could compete with the big ones on a technical level. And ultimately, that is the truth for now (and might remain forever).

A meme competing on a technical level would be some next level meme though. Sure it would be difficult to pull that off, but I would really enjoy seeing it done.

Absolutely! Problem is we would need people (actually super skilled people) think the same way as you and me. And for them there are a lot of other opportunities where there is money to be made. This community would need to gather a good amount of funds to attract devs.

I wish I had the reputation to round up funds and look for strong developers and marketing teams. Aren't there any prominent oldschool shibes around to tackle this task?

Agree - I usually only buy DOGE when the price is <32, current price is very good (for buying)

To get closer to 1$ , Doge needs to have a market cap of over 100bln USD, today we talk about 100mln. Doge alone will never go to 100bln and beat the TOP 10 coins. This will never happen but it is possible to think that somewhere in the future the total crypto market cap will reach 50 trillions in which case we will certainly see 1$ Doge. But if this happens this will be probably because the world economy collapsed. The real estate across the board lost 50%, no state currency is reliable due to volatility , many states split, people loose theirs jobs and money and the crypto currencies are the only reliable currencies .
