I also am excited to see Doge going sky rocketing now officially its year has started. Most probably huge appreciation is waiting for Doge which will take it new all time highs. All this hype and expectations will not go away without bringing fruitier reward for holders and investors this year.

I own a few hundred thousands worth of DOGE and I keep holding most of it for the last four years. Unlike my other coins it did not really appreciate and do you know why? Because there has been very little development.
Merge-mining with LTC was a great achievement but I am desperately missing further accomplishment. Yes, of course it is running but the market is moving faster than this coin.  

BH is one of the so called team in the vice coin you are promoting in your signature. The team (I bet all but maybe two) are fake people with fake images and fake names. Just like almost all ICOs with team member images cropped in circle form coming from ICO factories in Russia and China. Stop pumping ICO scams. Your friends and family won't trust you ever again.



Now back to DOGE. It has achieved anything a crypto currency has achieve:

Massive widespread adoption. Most exchanges use it as their main currency to trade against like BTC and LTC.

Secure network not hacked in 5 years (ETH cannot claim that

Fast transactions (only few coins such as BTCZ can claim that).

Cheap transactions.

Crazy cult like followers. Just check Reddit. They are nuts.

Proper denomination to be used as currency. A coffee could cost 1.50 DOGE not 0.0000000000000150 BTC.

Most used currency for value transfer between exchanges.

Easiest coin to store away with so many wallets available.

Besides, core node development doesn't really matter much since it already works so well. What matters is the actual usage of Doge and the dogeconomy, which has been also doing well, and growing.

Wallet development is important though. A week ago or so i tried to setup a doge lightwallet and it wasn't a good experience. There wasn't any alternatives as far as i saw. Wowdoge wallet looks like its from the stone age. Doge needs something like electrum wallet. *This part needs a fix. The wallet i mentioned wasn't wowdoge, it was multidoge. (multidoge still sucks) Just tried wowdoge wallet and its perfectly fine. I don't know why i haven't seen it before.* Now i remember why i skipped wowdoge. It needs to be synced goddamit. So my first point is still valid. We need a better lightwallet.

Secondly, removing the hard cap creates inflation and scares the holders away. Nobody in the right mind would hold a coin without a limited supply. Doge needs to find a solution to this so they can be a store of value and a cheap payment method at the same time like bitcoin.

At the current state of bitcoin where a non-segwit tx costs only 0.10$, doge has no use case. I'll still hold a few thousand doge's maybe something crazy happens and we'll see 1doge=1doge 1doge=$1 in the future. wow.

The VICE rant is what I expected. No links, just general allegations anyone can make about anything and some emotional stuff. No facts = no interest.
I am not saying it is perfectly legit but I have no facts proving otherwise.

Yes, I still like Doge. It has cheap transactions and it is a relatively stable coin due to merge mining you somehow omitted to mention.

One big plus but symbolic fact this year of Doge in that region of China which play be used here even if many people separate that from Doge coin. DOGE is quite immune to any kind of news,good or bad.Only news that had impact was Chinese government complet ban of cryptos in September 2017,when Chinese massively sold theirs coins,including DOGE which lost 2/3 of its value for few days.

DOGE is relatively regular,one quick pump per year,then continuos fall for months to its price base level around 20 sat. Sincerely doubt that few positive articles and new 1.14 wallet could have such powerful impact to reverse present almost free fall phase.

anyway, this coin give me more than a half money I have right now, so I have no reason not to buy and hold it till the end of the year

Official 1.14 alpha 2 (Development)🚀 🚀

The is the second alpha release of Dogecoin Core 1.14 is out now! It contains two important bugfixes compared to the first alpha, and anyone on 1.14-alpha-1 should upgrade immediately. The major changes are:

Fee rounding is now applied consistently across the code base by applying it in the fee rate rather than in the calling code (which had lead to some calls being missed).
Coinbase maturity checks are now enforced correctly.
Important notes:

This is not a binary release, you must be comfortable compiling it yourself.
At the moment we expect to re-introduce the alert system into 1.14 before release, please disregard the release notes that discuss its deprecation/removal.
Don't use this with money you aren't willing to lose. This is the version the developers will start doing mainnet currency tests with, however we'll be keeping amounts very small until there's a beta.
Please do not mine on the production network with this release, as it would trigger a soft fork earlier than expected.
Next stage will be a beta, for which we need to fix a few more things:

Mac builds don't... err... build right now.
Alert system needs to go back in.
Many of the tests don't reflect Dogecoin's rounded fee schedule, and need to be updated. This is mostly to make 1.15 easier to test, but needs doing sooner rather than later.
