There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Bitcoin has two excellent points in terms of reduction. The first point is a limited issue of 21 million coins, the second point is the loss of about 25% of this issue, which will be impossible to recover ever.

"if there was an easy way to do it" Gates anwsers you own question.Obviously, there`s no easy way to short bitcoin. BTC future contracts aren`t the best tool for shorting.Gates is smart enough to know that.

Pretty ironic that Gates said that "I would short it if there was an easy way to do it". Who knew the Microsoft founder doesn't know how to do a simple Google search on how to short bitcoin? You could easily do that with sites like Bitmex. I would completely understand if Warren Buffet was the person who said that, but Bill Gates? Nope. Looks like he just doesn't want to put money where his mouth is.

LOL at bill gates... the guy is famous for making very foolish statements. Didn't he say the internet would have no commercial use at one point?

Yeah, that's exactly why Microsoft was rushing in 94 to devote their Fax team to developing Internet Explorer for 95plus once it dawned the rocket scientists at Microsoft that the future is surprisingly the internet and not faxing... For me, Gates can be characterized as somebody who got rich by stealing other peoples ideas and concepts (and software). Wake me up when somebody I take serious says something interesting...

He is very rich, but it doesn't mean everything he say is true. He don't like Bitcoin but bitcoin will continue grow.

Bill Gates is a weird person. I remember that he used to support cryptocurrencies and now he is saying that Bitcoin has no future or that cryptocurrencies are bad because they are used for illegal activities. What has happened to him? Didn't he know about this a few years ago? Bitcoin has a bright future. It slowly becomes better and better so why is he against it? I think that he might be trying to lower the price so he could buy more.

if the founder and owner of microsoft start using cryptocurrency as payment so hopefully this can trigger the bitcoin price movement and trigger the increase of bitcoin price in order to become a very expensive coin.

So when is Bill Gates lying, when he speaks out about how he supports bitcoin or when he speaks out about how bad bitcoin is?

Becoming the richest man on earth couldn't have been done without a lot of stealing and back-stabbing. What does this tell us about these uber rich, uber successful people like Buffett, Munger and Gates? There are studies that suggest that these successful business people have the three dark traits of narcissism, Machiavellianism, and psychopathy. Now contrast that with the open-source, collaborative and decentralized ethos of bitcoin. It goes against the very spirit of these rich psycopaths babbling about "Harvested Baby brains" and "Rat Poison Squared". Seriously man, Who the hell do these old fucks think they are?? They can't see something become successful without their psychopathic trademark on them. That is the only reason they keep disparaging it. We really have nothing to feel about what they say. Let them go wither off with their stupid thoughts.

Windows actually currently accepts Bitcoin(BTC) for payments. Not a significant number of people use bitcoin to pay for Windows anyway. Expect a price increase if ecommerce sites like eBay or Amazon accepts bitcoin. That's a huge IF though.

He may think that the price of BTC is too high, and he doesn't want to buy it for a while. Maybe after the lower price, he will consider buying some BTC.

Maybe read the actual article on the reason why Bill Gates is not fond of cryptocurrencies. The article is right there in front of you. Clue: it's not because of the price.
