I don't think so this happened because of futures alone, I don't think there is any major impact by them that brought the prices down. The major reason is the sentiments are down, google searches are down, overall the community seems to have cold feet over bitcoins which is sad. I'm sure things will improve in the long run but currently we can't do much but wait and watch.

I bet the twins regret getting Bitcoin listed on the CME.
Bitcoin Futures will keep the price LOW!
In futures no one buys bitcoin!
It just a bet: up or down

The BTC futures markets have been around for quite some time, if you are brave enough to take part and have a go, you can do very well over a short or long time term, of course it can go the other way too. In that, I do not think the futures markets affect the BTC price much really, of course there are peaks and troughs, it is all about being on the right side of them...

I don't see why you think Bitcoin Futures listing on CME will make the price low. It will strengthen the prices rather. People that bets on financial instruments like stocks and other assets are betters and not trader. Traders can utilize the Bitcoin future prices to hedge their holdings.

Bitcoin is not going to die.
If bitcoin dies, then all altcoin will lose their value, which is also a nightmare for the whale.

I think bitcoin will never dies. But maybe in the future bitcoin will spreading its popularity throughout the world, and will not destroyed but rather keep on increasing because of the huge demands that bring big whale eagerness adaption on it.

bitcoin will increase in value it will happen, because with a limited supply and nowadays bitcoin experiencing high demand will be very difficult if the future will destroy bitcoin. it will not happen and just speculation.

I think that in future out of all the variety of crypto currency will remain only a dozen coins. It will be: Ripple, NEM, bitcoin, ETH and some others. The remaining coins will disappear, since they are not needed. Currently, many coins simply copy each other. This is wrong and should not be for so long.

bitcoin will always persist, when many bitcoin users, then make bitcoin become strong and will survive in a long time, bitcoin value will continue high in the future.

I think only the primitive people who do not know the growth of bitcoin. they will only get regret after bitcoin $ 1000000

There are many institutions like pension funds, hedge funds, multimarket funds, etc which want but cannot buy bitcoin directly.

But they could buy a future. Or an ETF.

T His is why futures and ETFs are important right now. They are the first step to institutional money.

Why were futures allowed on such a volatile like bitcoin in the first place? Undecided

The Winklevoss twins are banking on an ETF for bitcoin since they started their own exchange years ago.
So you know this will eventually happen if it has not already and just not publicized yet. Roll Eyes

In the future, the government can not control Bitcoin because its working currency is decentralized. However, with their powers, governments can control and restrict the use of Bitcoin. For example, the government may force banks to stop providing services to cryptocurrency-related companies, or banning commercial activities in this area. But if the ban only appears in a single country, the effect on the entire cryptocurrency market is minimal. Because businesses can move their operations to countries with cryptocurrency-friendly policies such as Japan, Australia ...

No one can ever predict weather bitcoin'c price will go up and down, all you can do is bet , nothing more or nothing less,, but if we will going to base it to its previous performance  plus its popularity or attention it's getting right now, I can say that bitcoin's value will go up , it will not maintain its current price or be backed at less that 1000 dollars.  In a far future no one will know weather bitcoin will be boom or not .

A few years ago, there were futures. I think futures will have a long-term effect on bitcoin, but it is hard to destroy bitcoins in a short time.
Not only in short time but after long time as well it is very hard infect it is impossible to destroy bitcoin, we should share our good story with other people and we should encourage people for using bitcoin and investing in bitcoin so they will not be afraid of future according to the bitcoin, right now they are investing and spreading knowledge about bitcoin so destruction of bitcoin in near future is quite impossible.

If something could destroy bitcoin then it should destroy bitcoin. But I see no path for futures doing anything except maybe reducing volatility.
How would futures lead to stability? As far as I understand futures, it's mainly short-term price speculation. That leads to either going long or short, which means either buying or selling now, and doing the opposite when you close the position.
Add some stop losses to the equation, and there's a huge positive feedback loop that increases volatility.
Unless I miss something here, in that case please correct me.

I'd be fine with BTC setting at 10k USD for years, I don't need to be a millionaire Wink
I wound't mind being a millionaire though Wink

It has already been reported in various articles that futures has destroyed bitcoin prices. This is one of the things that needs to be improved before mainstream adoption i.e. the volatility so we don't have those major swings any more.

In my opinion, now the reputation of bitcoin is a bit spoiled. After the fall, bitcoin does not recover, and many bought it for 20,000 and lost a lot of money. Personally, I believe in the biton. But I really want to see good growth.

Well the future BItcoin will hold its price at its low level which is a good thing, for users to buy them on the market. But, To have no value at all is very disagreeable, even if bitcoin loses its value as the top coin in the market, it still have its own value not that high but still making its way through the market. HAving the top seat as the major coin and as reference to others makes it really questionable whether BTC will be dead in the future

it's unlikely that bitcoin will get stronger in the future as time goes by the number of investors continues to grow and many countries accept and legalize bitcoin
