It wasn't reset, it was changed.  It was "do you think difficulty will drop" now it's "do you think difficulty will continue to drop".

Wouldn't difficulty stay about the same from now on?

I ask this because a dropping difficulty would take an active action on part of the miners. Wouldn't those who already set it up would most likely stick with it?
I mean it could be possible that the price of bitcoin plunges further demotivating some people but not a majority...

The other question is to what extent this forum and the community is just the tip of the iceberg... Most miners probably got to bitcoin via mouth to mouth propaganda and are not following the development to this extent, and such ignore most market movements.
