Can't be as bad as SexCoin?

Sexcoin is another altcoin based on....  Nothing.

Dogecoin is an altcoin based on a highly popular internet meme with huge brand recognition.

I think we know which one is going to succeed here.

I know which of them is going to succeed , nonecoin.

I remember when litecoin came out, and people were saying it would fail too.

And look at it now.

Cryptocurrency + wildly popular internet meme = wildly popular cryptocurrency.

As best I can tell here is what Dogecoin has going for it:

Of the many useless altcoins this is the first one to not take itself seriously at all.
Yes, it's a joke and this community has needed one for a long time.
It's fun to have lots and lots of coins, even if it is just lots and lots of nothing.  And with 100 billion coins (vs 21 million BTC) there are going to be lots of people with lots of nothing.
It launched with some rudimentary infrastructure, it has lots of faucets and some gambling sites so everyone can get in on it and do something with it.
+1 it's a fun and silly altcoin. yay. good to see! Smiley good to have a fun coin!

Do you consider LTC  a success?
They are desperately trying to get somebody to accept ltc and failing miserably.
Remember project Atlantis? Although I'm pretty sure you have no clue about it.
Price isn't an indicator of success.
People tend to mix those two things.

Just an example. Youtube it's a hit , everyone loves Youtube , although the site is making Google lose more that 100mils every year.
So , it's a failure Smiley

Youtube was losing 450 millions in 2009.
Since then numbers have gone down , but still , youtube loses money.
Those servers aren't paid with money earned from ads , they are payed by the others services google runs.
That's why they are introducing payed subscriptions! Because they can't afford to keep it loosing investors money!

Also , this is the main reason , that after the first year google has refused to make public any numbers about the running cost /revenues.

That's the main reason I joined.  I had every opportunity to jump on Bitcoins the moment they came out, but I was stupid, and I didn't.  Now there's all kinds of coins floating around worth real money.

So, I'm jumping on the *DOGECOIN*

I figure it'll have enough support what with all the forums that spam Doge all over...  Soo.....  I will be rich.  In Doge.

How much does one Dogecoin cost in USD?

You can always buy your BTC with DOGC, you can then tranfer that to the bank for real money. There is always a work around, when there is a will there is a DOGE.

I was going to invest in DOGE a couple of days ago. I kinda regret not doing so as it is becoming more popular. Not sure how long it will last and if it's merely a commodity.

Good luck anyway!
