I agree with your last sentence and also agree that bank accounts can be closed for various reasons. The problem is that as Bitcoin becomes more popular banks that ban Bitcoin dealings of any kind will have something similar to a Scarlet Letter on them. The people who want to deal with Bitcoin will have no dealings with the banks who ban them. As the numbers of people using Bitcoin in the future grows, that could hurt bank profits.

I mean realistically, it could be 5 -10 years before major online businesses start to accept Bitcoin. The transactions will almost always be of a more limited nature until wider acceptance of the coin has taken hold.

There is always possibility some small Bank will see oppurtunity how to get new clients and expand by allowing and supporting Bitcoin users

This is what I was trying to say, Imagine one bank vs all the banks I would close my chase account and open account just for this reason.

i think everyone just needs to calm down, while a few countries or banks may ban BTC, its not going to get banned worldwide or made illigal

This is a bold faced LIE.  Quit repeating it.  It NEVER HAPPENED.  It was just a huge steaming pile of "journalism" all traced back to one blog entry which was a LIE.

If you are so convinced you are right then you would be willing to bet me on it.  Since you are not taking the bet that proves all your posts are LIES.

Our family was terrorized by Homeland Security.  Read all about it here:  http://www.jmwagner.com/ and http://www.burtw.com/  Any donations to help us recover from the $300,000 in legal fees and forced donations to the Federal Asset Forfeiture slush fund are greatly appreciated!

haha, this is such a great post. op is just trying to force the price down and get everyone to sell so he can cash in cheap.

even if all banks would bann the exchange from btc to fiat money, btc still has it's place.

Assuming on that, it means that all the positive stories about Bitcoin are lies. All the news about how great Bitcoin is , are coming from forums and blogs and then they are spread in "press".

Do you really think that China did not ban the exchangers to buy and sell Bitcoin? Say it and then we will make a bet.

BTC China could close down in the new year when there won't be anymore funding/withdrawl options left:

http://www.coindesk.com/sources-confirm-chinas-payment-processor-ban-bitcoin-price-falls/

I was really hoping China wouldn't crack down this hard on bitcoin, but the facts are the facts. The PBOC doesn't want any threats to its plan of making the Yuan the world's reserve currency.

I was just reading this news on BusinessInsider. So, this news seems to be true. It seems like chinese government is trying hard to knock bitcoin out of the park. Do you guys think now bitcoin will crash and stabalize at a new value like at 600?

samsam  please do not spoil my bet Smiley

I opened this thread just to inform and I faced a lot of resistance. I am not sure why. It seems the people do not like to be informed. Smiley

it will crash. the banks will close the accounts for all the exchangers in the following months.

I know others will come with a lot of "words"(bla bla bla) trying to say otherwise. It's funny that they know that I am right.

Today China clarifies the situation for everybody (they already did it 8 days ago but it was necessary to be bolded)

CoinBase will be closed in the next months by having its bank accounts seized. They are working without license in USA(they are based in USA).It's incredible the naivety of people. MT Gox lost over 6 mil by doing the same thing 6 months ago.

Still no bet.  Obvious FUD thread.

Keep up the good work mayax (and others).

So long and thanks for all the cheap(er) BTC!

I don't get you. What bet you want to make?

It's an obvious and a real thing that China banned all the exchangers including BTC China. What  FUD are you talking about?

BTC China will close the business in China in less than 30 days. Mark my words.
This is a pretty specific claim here.  Care to bet on that?  How much would you bet on this?
Here you go.  You made this specific claim.  That would be 30 days from yesterday.

Hmm. The link mayax provide to PBOC seems to have no mention of BTC at all, even though you claimed it was a direct announcement.  Perhaps he/she(?) didn't notice that there is a handy "English Version" page as well, and was counting on people not being able to understand it?

It seems that once again, the news from China has been massively overblown and is not in fact as bad as rumours stated. Who woulda thunk it?

sure did.

Interestingly BTChina, Stamp and BTC-E have all rallied but Gox has been totally indifferent to the clarification.

Which is annoying because I took a long position on BTC rising on a platform that bases its price index on Gox.

I personally think it's *safe* to call Bitcoin a *stable* currency liek the US dollar with a safe range between $700-$1150

Seems to me that more and more people are trying to spread FUD to move BTC price down. Yes Chinese were the catalyst for this bubble, but there is still around 190 countries, plus China just wants that funds not to be laundered. BTC will be fine
