To forge you must be logged into your account and running the client. If you are not there is no way for your computer to forge.

If it's any consolation I have around 4 Million and I still haven't forged a block.

We'll I've been logged in only for a few hours... Before today there wasn't really a point as there were no transaction fees to process. I'll let it sit for 48 hours and report back.
