10.000 $ is better divided into 10-20 different coins, in the long term, since you plan to hold, they will bring more profit than just these two are not the best. Of course, the choice is yours.

Yes, a great investment allocation, I totally agree with your opinion, I believe in ETH but do not believe in Ripple. Ripples are just bubbles of broken bubbles, they will burst at any time if you believe in them. I think the rest should invest in BCH or NEO better than ripple.

Contrary to a lot of others, I do think XRP is a good choice. But I would split your money across more coins, and get some ETH and NEO as well as some BTC.
It's all personal choice though, everyone has their own perspectives and opinions. I do think that XRP price will rise, one thing to watch out for with this coin is that price rises are often sudden and dramatic, fuelled at least in part by the traditionally overheated South Korean element.

Since btc is more likely stable than this coins, better yet divide this 10k of yours into 3 parts. 4k to btc, 3k to eth and 3k to this ripple coins that you liked. Having a portfolio without bitcoin is like there's something inadequate. I wouldn't be the same with those people that has 100% altcoins on their stash.

At $ 10000 I think buying a BTC would be better than the other altcoins, at the end of the year my forecast would probably grow at $ 15,000. That was a big profit for his money. And holding the BTC is safer than other altcoins.

Well, if you put it all into the ripple, the risk is very high. I do not believe in this coin, I know they are just bubble coin fragile. So the longer they hold, the less they will be. Ripple has no potential, give up the intention to invest ripple right now, so investment in ETH or BTC will be more stable.

I don't like these coins. Waves has a non-progressive technology (in my opinion),  ripple are constantly pumped, and then falls, it's not good for a long-term investment.

I really like the waves. I hope they will grow in price. But this should come out positive news from the developers. But I wouldn't pay attention to XRP. I don't like them.

It is not a bad strategy. but remember that ripple has different systems with the most coins. Ripple tend to be centralized and with it of course also this coin will be difficult to develop. Maybe replace with a more has great potential like EOS. May be Zilliqa is good option to invest too.

$5000 in ripple is insane, i will put that money in another altcoin just like Oyster Pearl or any other coin that is profitable. But ripple? Ripple is stable, but it is not as profitable as it was a few months ago.

My suggestion for $10000 is :
1. xrp : i said no for this coin. I agree if xrp have good fundamental growth but it is so centralised crypto.
2. Waves : i agree if you put decent ammount to waves because the price istill relatively under value.
3. Ethereum : i will suggest you to buy more ethereum because it is not break $600 and possibly can goes up more.
4. Essentia : the best ico for next month and the product really worked good.

Sorry to say but all of them lack the most important feature of crypto currencies. If am talking about volatility. No doubt, being a digital asset makes them volatile but not enough that they can bring good amount of profits in a short period of time. If had to give my friendly and sincere suggestion, it would be bitcoin or bitcoin cash. The former one goes as the top priority because it is the best when it comes to earning money.

Investing in XRP is a smart decision but you should not invest too much money on an altcoin. That will leave you with many opportunities to increase your money.
I think you should only invest 4k $ in XRP and 3k $ in WAVES. Then you will have $ 3k to invest in ICO projects and day trading. If you are lucky and good, you will be able to raise $ 3k to $ 5k within a month.
