How did we get on to discussing TV?
I'm really looking forward to watching Dexter as I loved the first two seasons, but heard it drops off in quality. Badtimes.

i think the film couldn't find any investors, so vin diesel put a lot of his own money into making it. he might not get all of it back
Yeah, Vin himself got the rights to Riddick/the Pitch Black Universe by making another film he wasn't too excited about. From there, they were supposed to shoot it in Montreal at a certain time but one of the producers backing the film financially was apparently involved in some fraud issues... So after a few months, they were finally able to shoot but trust me... They definitely did it as much on the cheap as possible. I may not have liked the film, but I hope it ends up at least breaking even for both Vin and the studio. The dude's a good fan and loves making projects just 'cause he's a big geek. We need more like him.

I remember liking the first Pitch Black when I saw it in theaters and I might've caught it once or twice since.
I watched Chronicles of Riddick when it came out on DVD on a train ride and was utterly bored. I found myself staring at the scenery outside more than the film.

I've not seen Chronicles. I'll give the trilogy a go when I've got time. No time at the moment though for any films or TV

V for Vendetta. Good film, very entertaining to say the least. The original Red Dawn was something which I really used to enjoy watching too.

Remake was better. Jokes. I need to watch V again. I wonder if there'll be any films with the V/Anonymous mask in. Wonder if they could get the rights to use it. Would be cool to see armies of V masks in another film.

Remake was better.
The remake was disappointing. The acting wasn't incredible, the mistakes they made in the movie were just so bad. I still enjoyed watching the remake but it doesn't have anything on the original.

Michael Bay may have made some duds, but The Rock is still a classic to me. Really solid action film, in my opinion. One of the best in the nineties.
