Hello,

I was planning on ordering a few for myself but I am going to gauge interest on potential group buys for the Alpha Technologies 25 MH/s Litecoin ASICs.
I will be owning 50% of each rig we group buy. It will give me the ability to make the decisions and it should decrease your investment risk.

There will be a max of 4 people per rig (excluding myself). Thus, the minimum investment is 681.25 Euros (about $932 USD) for 1/8 of one rig. I will only accept bitcoin.

Rigs will be located in highly secure Southern California (north orange county) facility. You will be able to visit the facility if you own any of part of any rigs. Facility is designed to host up to 50, 25 MH/s systems without issues. (even more if converted to higher voltage). Electricity is pretty cheap in the winter time, expect management/overhead/electricity cost to be 5-10%.

As for the pre-order process:
I must receive your bitcoins (at bitstamp rate) before I pre-order.
You will have to pay the remaining balance (in BTC) when Alpha-T requests payment a few weeks before they ship

Terms:
Failure to pay remaining balance in a timely manner will result in forfeit of deposit.
Refunds are not possible unless the entire group agrees on a refund which will payout according to Alpha-T.
You can transfer partial ownership of rigs but can only do so once every 2 weeks.
Bitcoin will ONLY be sent to me once a group buy has been fully filled.
Amount of BTC for the deposit or payment will be based on the bitstamp rate at time of transaction.

Payout will be done on a weekly basis (every sunday) I am open to mining any scrypt currencies.

Roughly 1.38 BTC total per slot. 0.39 BTC per slot for the DEPOSIT at current bitstamp price of $687.

~1.37 btc per slot - is that the deposit? If so, how much would remaining balance be then?

lmao, a groupbuy for a nonexistent asic? https://alpha-t.net/product/viper-scrypt-miner-25mhs/

24" PCI-E cables with 16AWG wires and stripped ends - great for server PSU mods, best prices https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=563461

Sorry I should have been more clear, OP changed.

0.39 per slot for deposit and remaining balance will need to be paid when Alpha-T makes the request (they said a few weeks before shipment)

Its true, there is quite a bit of risk involved. So I urge people to only invest what you can afford to lose Wink

buyer beware then - this just seems like a shady groupbuy for a product noone has heard of, with deposits on pre-orders....

I'd like to invest but I'm reluctant.

Have you run a group buy before?

Will you be multi-pool mining?

Are you insured?

Thanks!

Well alpha-t is brand new but they did produce some designs that seem plausible. Now lets see if they produce a product demonstration!

Its like back in the BFL/Avalon/KNC startup days.

No group buy but I currently run a small alt coin farm and have a bunch pre-orders for other gear Wink

Yes Multi-pool mining can and will be arranged to act as a backup, mine an alternative coin and/or diversify risk.

The miners itself will not be insured (though there might be ways around this if they get damaged somehow). The building, electronic equipment, fires etc will be fully insured.
I am having a hard mount surge protectors installed along with secondary surge protectors (which claim to cover up to $200k USD in damages). Additionally, a short term battery will be routed to specifically to these miners with potential to install a generator should electricity problems arise.

Lastly, internet connection is on fiber and will have a DSL line as redundancy. The entire building has a pretty strong security system conneced directly to the police department which is less than a mile away. Also 24/7 surveillance cameras.

I'm interested. PM me.

please be smart. there are a lot of scams in the forums where companies/individuals claim they have an ASIC or are developing one. The only scrypt asic remotely near reality offers well than 1MH - to claim a 25MH one is close enough to invest your BTC on deposits to pre-order is shady.

there is no proof that:
1) t-alpha is a real company producing a real product (not a 1hr webpage design)
2) IamRichard has any connection to t-alpha, or any sort of "pre-order deposit"

£1,635
30% Deposit Required: £1635.
Total price: £5450. Remainder will need to be paid 8-10 weeks before shipment, which will include shipping cost to your location. so, whenever they ask you for the other 70% of the pre-order money, you are still 3 months from having hardware
Hashrate: >= 25 Mh/s speed
Power consumption: ~ 600w not happening. there is no info to suggest or support that this chip would be remotely capable of 25Mh/s on less than 600W

Dexeldesigns exists and is a real company, and really recognize to be working with t-alpha (http://www.dexceldesigns.com/news_events.html) so seem trustworthy.

I am having trouble seeing the advantage in doing this groupbuy rather than buying it outright for oneself.  I am always up to invest in something of value but I think I will need some help understanding value in this one.  Anyone?

No need to manage it. Security, access to power, ability to sell your stake quickly and easily. Reduce risk by only buying 1/8th instead of an entire unit. Easy to scale up if you wanted. Plus, its something fun Cheesy

Quite a few people asking if I am willing to mine alternative Scrypt coins and the answer is yes. There will be a tracking and voting system in place.
