I know some mods previously explained this is bitcointalk.org, but looking at various sub-forums, the Alternate Cryptos one really need a bit more organization. Just count how many pages of threads get new replies in the last 10 hours etc., and you'll see Alternative Cryptos is by far the most active section of this forum.

Please consider organizing it a little better.

I have to fully agree with you bud,

There should at the very least be a subforum for giveaways and new coin announcements.

If you want to talk about alt-coins then I'd suggest finding a new forum.  This has been asked about before many times and I don't see a reason why it would be changed this time.

Adding child boards would be more effort than most of these folks put into their crapcoins.

Ultimately, the question is to what extent does the site operators want to serve the forum users' needs and to what extent they want to promote certain things or agendas.

From the perspective of serving forum users, evolving to fit better with forum usage is the natural thing to do. From the perspective of promoting bitcoin, the conclusion is different.

A website's owners can of course take whatever path they like.

At the very least the altcoins section needs it's own mining section.

LOL at the arrogant replies.

1.) Why do you think is there an altcoin-subforum, is altcoin-talk is not wanted here?
2.) You claim altcoin-talk is unwanted, but you are incorrect. Just some days ago theymos added altcoin-subforums to all regional boards ... He wouldnt have done it, if talking about altcoins is not wanted here.

Looks like bitcoin community is not special, mods and old regs get arrogant, develope shortsighted thinking, acting like they know it all. Like on any other board ....

Because it isn't wanted.  They were added as a compromise.  Without them altcoin talk would be spread across every forum and even into otherwise Bitcoin related threads.  It would create a never ending amount of work for mods.   This forum like many other forums has an off topic section as well.  Do you think it is because the owners are promoting off-topic topics?  Of course not, it is simply easier to have an off topic section and hopefully some users will use it and that self moderation reduces the workload.

See #1, same concept applied to foreign language boards.

Why don't you just go here: https://cryptocointalk.com

They have the sub forums you're looking for and it seems like a pretty good layout with lots of members.

Alt currencies board was/is the alternative to just deleting them.
