Well MOON is fucked. I haven't even opened my wallet for months. had it encrypted and the keys help in a truecrypted vault. This isn't FUD. Moon is broken and I have suffered a terrible loss.

What?

How could your coins have been stolen if your wallet was secured?

You're saying they hacked the blockchain or they 51'd moon?

If that were true then all the exchanges would have been hit as well and that doesn't seem to have happened.

Yes I'm saying that. My keys were encrypted in a wallet along with bitcoin keys. My bitcoins are still there. I haven't opened my Moon wallet for a long time. So yes, Moon isn't secure. See what happened:

http://www.moonchain.net/address/2bfkzvCAvvBASYZihFC66QykKiQNz2xgJ4

On the 15th EVERYTHING has been stolen. The hacker's wallet is 2DMfpxPiMtpVDVyrxQAAmfBbZnDH4XCMfK. He has over 6 billion moon. Presumably all stolen.

FUCK OFF you heartless bastard. I just lost over $2000 and I'm not rich. Fucktards like you give crypto the bad name it deserves. How dare you laugh at someone who has been robbed.

Seriously?

Who quits crypto altogether cause of one hack?  That's senseless.

It's like quitting driving cars cause you were involved in one accident.

That would sound like major trolling if you ever heard it, would it not?

EDIT: My wallet doesn't have any conf file, and it is locked with a long password.

This is a disaster.

Thank you. Is there any possibility that the exchange(s) might be able to freeze / recover these funds? I have absolutely no idea how they could have been stolen. I haven't had my moon wallet open for a long time. I have occasionally checked my balance by putting my public key into the blockchain explorer. My private key was held in a truecrypted vault along with other crypto account details, none of which have been hacked. So as far as I can see, whatever has gone wrong is not my fault. I'm sorry to seem to FUD moon but this is a pretty substantial loss.

Good afternoon from Greece.I am sorry for your problem. I think that it's a good idea to report this wallet address in Cryptsy and other basic exchange sites. You can find them in coinmarket.com.

This situation was reported to cryptsy....

Thank you. I'm sorry to have made this problem so publicly clear but I am so upset. I don't know how this could have happened. I have been so careful.

Thank you to everyone who has shown kindness and tried to help.

The only possibility I can think of, based on other people's posts, is that I had my moon wallet open a VERY long time ago with an insecure conf file. But this would have been more than six months ago. I'm not even sure that this is the case though.

I can't believe this. But to anyone who thinks I've had my coins hacked by being dumb, I haven't. All my other coins seem to be secure, although I had far more Moon than any other coin. Since so much moon has been hacked into a single address, there must be some vulnerability affecting Moon - perhaps only affecting large wallets? Anyway. This is a disaster for me financially. What a day.

Is there a possibility mooncoin could be forked to make the hacked coins return to their original wallets? The amounts of moon stolen (not just from me) are so large that it seems like it may well be worthwhile.

Talked to Cryptsy and some 15 billion coins were stolen from across various wallets.  They put a stop to it but the damage is done.

This was not Cryptsy's fault - people left same RPC PASS/Login across multiple wallets and someone with daemon wallet cleared them out.

Newbie error strikes again!

But what a massive buying opportunity this created for MOON buyers.

Your reply to my post was unbelievably nasty, inhuman and heartless. I want nothing to do with you. Please refrain from commenting on any of my posts or communicating with me in any way. Thank you.

What?

I hope you're of the female gender cause your feelers get hurt a bit too easily.

You made a mistake, you're young, don't give up on Crypto like a sissy and you'll recover and make a lot more back when Bitcoin jumps over $10,000 this next year.

Cheers!

No, that's not gonna happen.  15 billion out of nearly 200 billion is Mickey Mouse.
