Most likely the bet was temporarily unavailable at that moment during the game. This does not affect your already confirmed bets, it simply means you can not place additional bets. If the bet becomes available again later, refresh the Bet Status page and it will inform you how much more you can wager.

I was stupid and placed a bet for 2.5547867 BTC when it said max bet was 2. In all honesty I was rushing to get my bet placed before the odds I wanted went away. That being said, will the 0.5547867 be refunded to me with/without the winnings?

To further simplify: In the event I win --- will it be paid out accordingly? If I loose ---- will it be lost?
