I think most people dont see the potential benefits from Premines.

We all sick and tired of new coins that announce they WERE NOT PREMINED and then we found out they were.
Thats no way to start anything serious, with a big LIE. We should continue to bash on that type of premining.


On the other hand, if the devs are open about the premine from the start, and show a plan for those coins using them for promotion, that is a good thing.
How could one support a coin otherwise? Out of his own pocket till they all get broke? That's the reason most coins get abandoned.

Nyan is a powerfull name, and the developers of NyanCoin seem to want to promote it BIG.
If this premine is put to good use, this coin can really take off.
There are some doubts off course, its a lot of coins. But there is also A LOT that can be done around a coin, and most developers fail on the promotion.
If we can keep track of where those coins are going ... that is already something different from others.

It will also bring more ppl outside crypto, and that is always great.

I see potential here, but its really up to the Devs to put the coins to good use, and its up to us to check what they are doing with them.

I like the idea, really do.

1) it's meant 50khs in total or per worker?
2) and if i mine in solo using a GPU? how can you limit that?

The 50kh,s pool is a special pool that is for cpu,s only * we give the cpu miners there some extra coins every day *

All other pools and solo mining are not limited in any way NYAN!

I signed up on http://nyan.luckyminers.com ahead of time, the difficulty keeps changing. It's now 5. No active mining I can see though.

The reason for a 10% premine is so that the coins can be spread out to people that don't mine, and allow them to join the community, through competitions, giveaways, and other various fun ways of distribution.


I am going to catch the coin at launch, get myself a nice baggy, and will personally hand out coins to crypto newbies through some sort of games, puzzles/riddles, or gaming competitions. Probably even going make paper wallets and give them out to strangers, friends, family, and neighbors.

In this case it depends on 2 things. First of all NYAN is really popular andro game, so nobody knows how the owner of the logo will react. If the coin inventor is in Zhongguo he cannot be pesonally accused but how can you predict the (c)owners reaction? Change the logo? The second problem is the monitoring of giving the coins to the @weakling@ pool and giveaways as a prizes. If the creator can solve the problem with the owner and will act accurately with massive donation to the weakling pool and make a good media with games etc why not? NYAN is a very good mem, much better than the cats and moon and even hamster.
Personally I will wait for the launch as it can put a lot of people with simple working computers into the crypto game. Every food chain needs solid base.

Who cares the reason? You can tell anything but it doesn't prevent you from actually selling all of them as soon as the coin reaches an exchange.

And the idea of rewarding the low hashrate users could be nice, but actually impossible to realize.
Who will stop someone with tons of hashing power to point a single CPU to the low power pool getting both the bonuses?? It's just impossible to prevent, and that's exactly what is going to happen.

Last but not least, you wrote that you're going to keep a part of the premine to pay the founder for a possible future problem of copyright..so how long you will keep this part of the coins? And again what will stop you from selling this part as soon as the coin reaches an exchange??

Could've been nice but it's gonna be a total fail.

my cpu (4770k) does 90k.....so 50k limit is too low!
