DEX, works just fine. Are you using xcpdex.com? It's a 3rd party site, currently not working.

Use Counterwallet instead

i tried it with counterwallet. it is working again. i don't know why and i don't know what was the problem. where are the Devs if they have to answer some questions?

I'm just wondering why good solid projects like XCP can recover the price from a big group, it has such big potential and product. Sometimes can't find answers why scam and useless projects grow so fast...
XCP will rise I am 100% sure but you`ll need to have a lot of patience

I also sure that it will rise simply didn't expect that it will fall that badly, especially when the project looks so solid and professional, not that bs which we see popping up every day.. Embarrassed

Interesting read, I guess the transactions fee are the main reason why it can't take the deserved place among the competitors, so this news quite encouraging that when the fees will be competitive this will be showed on the price, and investors who believe in project will be rewarded for patience.

This is a big one, thanks guys! I hope that with this, the withdrawal fees on exchanges will actually go down. This was always a big one in terms of wanting to invest more, but always feeling the sting when withdrawing Smiley

Crossing my fingers for mid-october!

Counterparty Roadmap - Ultra Cheap Fees and Smart’ish Contracts

The latest Counterparty (CP) release featured significantly cheaper sends and easier exchange integration. Under the hood, CP used to deal with inefficient dust outputs, and this upgrade eliminates that hurdle. In addition comes memo support, a new prerequisite, allowing for the attachment of short text to each transaction. These changes will be implemented as of block 489956, around October 16th.

These notable improvements are made possible by our core developer Devon Weller, as well as numerous volunteers. Mr. Weller has been retained by the foundation, and compensated by the generous donations of the community, for a six-month engagement.

Upcoming improvements as per our CP roadmap will begin with a Counterwallet overhaul - with an emphasis on fees. The user will be given full control of fees while the GUI will assist the user in choosing the best tradeoff between price and priority.

Soon to launch is Freewallet.io, a desktop wallet developed by Jeremy Johnson (aka J-Dog) of CoinDaddy and Xchain. Also emphasizing fee control, Freewallet will also excel in offering users Bitcoin trading on the Decentralized Exchange (DEX).

By the end of the year, CP plans to have introduced multi sends. In grouping several XCP and/or asset transfers into one single Bitcoin transaction, the fee for each send will thereby be greatly reduced. With this feature beneficial to transactions such as MPMA, one sender can group together a bulk transaction, and with others such as MCAT, you can even join a bulk transaction if you yourself only have one transfer to make. Such transfers will cost around a 5 cents (USD) even when a pure Bitcoin transaction fee is worth north of a dollar.

Another promising development is ongoing on picopayment lightning channels. If this comes to fruition, users will be able to make instant transfers at virtually no cost.

At the beginning of 2018, CP will consider the reevaluation of smart contracts, though this is partially dependent on the resolution of bugs within testnet’s Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). However, the development of a CP-specific Virtual Machine (CPVM) has also been proposed.

CP currently operates via specific smart contracts hardcoded into the counterparty protocol. Where the token system is integral to Counterparty’s protocol, the proposed equivalent Ethereum smart contract utilizes tokenization on a contracted basis. Also hardcoded within CP’s protocol is the highly popular DEX, and several features such as dividends, broadcasts, and betting.

There are numerous factors that CP has yet to assess and consider in deciding on a firm direction in regards to the use of smart contracts, and are hopeful that a decision may be reached come the beginning of the new year.

What are your visions for the future of Counterparty? Let us know via the forums, Reddit, Slack channels or on Telegram.

I hope this would be a game changer for the sorts of the counterparty environment. Finally no more expensive transactions on the dex! Users will be placing more and more orders. Well done.

Great news, really glad that the team is moving forward and hope that soon this token will be appreciated as this is a solid project and has all the ground to go up and replace all these useless tokens which are in the sky now.

I tried to sweep my BTC wallet (with NVO on it) on the Counterparty wallet, but it won't succeed no matter what browser I use. There's enough on the wallet to cover fees. Anyone know how to solve this?

XCP has been declining for a long time now. It was a great idea and it had a good branding, team once upon a time. But now its just a underdeveloped coin.

I do not understand your fud. Counterparty is one of the few cryptos out there that actually has a working product already.

I have 7.40000000 XCP on address 1DxzwX4qC9PsWDSAzuWbJRzEwdGx3n9CJB
You can see the balance here:
https://counterpartychain.io/address/1DxzwX4qC9PsWDSAzuWbJRzEwdGx3n9CJB
As far as I know this is around $70

You can take these funds. To do it you should create a counterparty wallet on
https://wallet.counterwallet.io/ (if you do not have one)
and import the private key for address 1DxzwX4qC9PsWDSAzuWbJRzEwdGx3n9CJB
L5HV2GiosXifcmijGCpFWdYiMRuXh4x4JVK29urGjfAWyasBYoDX

Good luck !

Do not you know that cp before the rival is ethereum? Compared to eth... NO, compared lisk waves, Where is cp now?

Are you talking about product or market cap?

I do not think Ethereum is the rival of Counterparty at all, as it suits a totally different usecase. I much rather put our company's tokens on top of Counterparty as it grants us a whole different standard of security. Bitcoin is turing incomplete to achieve a high level of security. ASICs and generally the by far highest hash rate of the Bitcoin blockchain reemphasizes the power of Counterparty. On the other side, Ethereum offers a turing complete language that lets you program anything into the chain that you like, even if its main purpose is to harm the chain.

So if you like experimentation, try Ethereum. If you prefer security, go with Bitcoin/Counterparty.

Counterparty has its rightful purpose already and has implementations coming up that make it suit even better that purpose.

We are still early in the era of crypto. You will be suprised how charts can flip. The time will come where people will understand.
