Can we resurect this ?

Running for President.

He already dropped out of the race a couple of weeks ago, how shocking.

I don't think he was very happy about this project back in the day. His lawyers put a stop to its development. Maybe if they had chosen a different logo. Lol.

The network died long ago.

I still have my wallet.dat saved from back when I mined COYE. Not sure if there's a way to check the balance without a working wallet that can make connection to any active peers. Even if you were to find someone with a balance, chances are transaction would stay stuck forever.

Just had a look at the first page of this thread, and it seems like I was able to sneak in a post on the first page lol. Crazy times those were.

I still have a few faithful coins, ready for the presidential backing of this coin as a global reserve asset.   It will make Doge look like a poodle

forgive my ignorance, perhaps, but how does the network die, though? Theoretically, as long as there is one miner, the network is up, no? Community seems to be dead, but the gay-ish faucet on Twitter seems to still be working. I encounter a problem with the wallet app, though. I downloaded the software, and it's telling me it's not syncing.

That seems to be the issue, there are no miners hence no blocks are being processed. Without any blocks there can't be any transactions. Last I checked (a couple years ago), I couldn't find any active peers.

Can you link me to the gayfish faucet on Twitter? I am interested in checking that out.

Here you go: https://twitter.com/GayFishBot. I managed to receive Coinye — I think at least. My wallet software can't sync, but the bot responded. Maybe only the Twitter bot still works and the underlying Coinye software it's connected to doesn't.

It'd be fun to revive this, though. How he destroyed Coinye is literally the plot of the South Park episode that inspired Coinye, but I don't think Kanye really want to sue the project to death. That move seemed to be like how he ran his presidential campaign. People around him not saying no to him because there's money, prodding him along, taking advantage of his mental illness. For the law firm involved in the Coinye suit, it was an opportunity for them to flex. They are boasting about how they protected kanye against coinye. Like that Britney documentary, we need to #FreeKanye, and to do that, we need to #FreeCoinye

Hello,

i just checked the wallet and found out I still have alot of COYE.

So if someone gets it listed somewhere to trade against BTC I will donate 20.000.000 COYE to him.

If the price would be 0,0000 0005 BTC/COYE that 20 mio COYE would be 1 BTC.

And also if someone wants to buy COYE from me directly for this price, just send me a direct message.

Kind regards

I'm genuinely curious: does the blockchain for this coin still run? If so, I don't think Kanye West would be too happy about it. He's the kind of guy that "cares" about that sort of thing...

I never mined it or owned any but its a coin thats older than my account here on the forum, so props to it if its still going.

I just installed the wallet and downloaded the WHOLE blockchain.
So yes, it still does work and I also was very impressed.

Back in the days when it started to "die" you could mine ALOT of coins.

Believe it or not – there is still a webpage up and running: http://coinye.net/  Roll Eyes

According to this site, a actual list of nodes are:

Code:
addnode=24.9.9.201:50164

addnode=114.96.139.212:36047

Coinye.net was registered years after the project was abandoned. I'd be wary trusting any downloads on that web page.

Here's the GitHub repo btw: https://github.com/realcoinyecoin/coinyecoin

Better to compile the code yourself than trusting any shady downloads.

Sorry – "believe it or not" wasn't meant as an offense. I was just very astound that there is still a running web page for that coin (even though it's not the official one).  I've compiled the core from the GitHub page in a docker Ubuntu 14.04 container and I'm downloading the blockchain now.  Used these nodes:

Code:
addnode=24.9.9.201:50164
addnode=135.148.27.31:54168
addnode=114.96.136.216:17934
