America planned this all along, provocating russia to intervent in the ukraine so USA can start a new war and escape from national bankruptcy. Because, as I´ve readed, the US constitution says, if the country is in a war, the debt limit is unlimited so they can print more US Dollar.

Having lived through 4 decades of Cold War from the 1950s through the 1980s, it seemed we were always on the brink of a nuclear holocaust that never came.

Hopefully sanity will prevail.

There are reasons for that...not the least of which being that we have the largest defense budget in the world - so large that it's more than the next 10 countries' combined defense budgets.

Another being that our oh-so-lovely representatives keep on piling on orders for equipment the military doesn't need or want because *not* ordering it would close down jobs in their district. 

Our defense budget can afford a little trimming.

I'd be really surprised if WWIII broke out. It wouldn't be surprising if Russia finally claimed Ukraine as a formal satellite, but I really doubt anyone will war with Russia over it, especially not while the US is still in the cold season (snowing here). I'm quite tired of the cold, so it'll have to wait until July, at least, when I've forgotten how much I hate ice and cold. I absolutely refuse to be drafted to the coldest place I know to see a bunch of heavily-bundled lumberjack-lookin' folks shooting at me. The second the Russians offer some of their vodka rations to the enemy troops so they can warm up, that battle is done, and all enemies will immediately assimilate into Russian culture. No amount of army professionalism will stop that.

I dont think that Putin ist interested in an war. If someone starts a war, than the USA. Maybe not oficially but like they did in the past. Pay others to fight. Like they did in Egypt, Lybia, Syria, Ukraina and more... War 2.0

But the situation with Ukraina calmed a bit, I think we are away from a war at the moment. Russian and Ukrainian soldiers played together soccer yesterday

The US is with his hands full on Afghanistan and is still involved secondarily on Iraq. Have serious problems with North Korea, Iran and potential ones on Pakistan... They went to Libya with great reluctance. They are avoiding military intervention on Syria like the plague. They have an agreement that forces them to protect the integrity of Ukraine and they did nothing besides some words on sanctions (and that was good). If they wanted a war, they had good grounds to send troops to Ukraine immediately. Is any one really thinking that Obama wants a war with Russia?? Forget about a third world war at least for the next decade. No one is crazy to face the US. And the US has enough problems.
On Putin: he ruined the Russian Democracy to say the least.

P.S. I'm not american; I think the US should be ashamed for what they did on Iraq and Afghanistan.

Wars tend to follow economic collapses and depressions. I think war is always on the table when it comes to the powers that be...

If the world economy is performing poorly then wars are imminent. WW3 would be the result of a major global economic depression. I think these small skirmishes are adequate to quench the thirsts of these bankers for the time-being.

WW3 could spark any time though. We won't see a clear indication until long after it's already started.
