Difficulty is pretty low at the moment so you could solo mine.

http://volt.bitember.com is still around, not sure the status though.

Noticed that there's at least one other person mining this coin. Great!

Whoever owns Qag4SFzVUxBMD3V4EPQrZCVfi1bu2ZZgzM (a random address from a recently mined block that isn't mine), I sent you a little extra.  Wink

Were up to 3511 on the votes.

Few items to get things moving

Update repository on github updated with the new compiled wallet(or setup a new github).
Setup Blockexplorer
Setup new electricvolt.net-Domain registered, working on website
Vote to add coin to exchange
Validate/create MPOS pool-can be solo mined currently low diff

Other items to add, need coffee

I hope the new developer will not give up his endeavors and we will succeed. Earlier this currency was actively mined, so that the community of miners learned that Electric is alive again and ready to go to the side of the moon!!! The main thing is to update the currency information on coinmarketcap.com
And ask to add Electric here https://yobit.net/ru/addcoin/ I hope the new developer will read this message and make so that there are no problems with the compilation!!!

VOLT is already on yobit, but the wallet is in maintainance since forever. maybe if a lot of us pester them nicely they will sync the wallet

I believe that was a fork of the original VOLT.

It is necessary to understand if this original volt is very good

we can try to write to tech support yobit with a request to resume the work of wallets because bitvolt.co is still dead, need to somehow explain that this is one and the same currency and send out new sources for successful compilation, probably.

Been taking time off, so have not focused yet, will in 2018.  Did have a few thoughts wanted to get some input from all interested.

Currently Scrypt, would like to change to a separate algo to make it a bit more resistant.
Being Electric  and Volt,  could be useful coin for Electric payments, Chevy volt discounts, just brainstorming here, would like some more ideas to start planning this better in the new year.
Possibly tie the price per kW per coin.  "Give"  a certain amount of coins to said electric company, who in turn sell them to their consumers on a pre-paid type of plan or allow them to purchase locking in a price.  Allow payments by coin, etc.

I am surprised something is still happening here. I remember back in 2014 I have bought quite a significant amount ($500 as far as I can remember) of Volt because there was a Youtube guy shilling it, I have found out my wallet address in this topic
QSPiFVUCELun1WJG4XHNhQbk19y9JKzQHg
Could somebody please give a link to Volt explorer, I would like to know where I have put all the coins

There's currently no explorer (AFAIK) that lets you see the balance of an address, but I can tell you that according to my client QSPiFVUCELun1WJG4XHNhQbk19y9JKzQHg is a valid address.

Easiest way is probably to run the client and see what your wallet balance is? http://www.almightycoins.org/electric/download/electric-qt.exe

(This assumes you still have the wallet.dat file...)

I believe that was a fork of the original VOLT.

May have been inspired by it, but the source code looks quite different, and they have completely different genesis blocks (so different blockchains). They don't seem to be related.

Thanks, unfortunately I do not have any wallet.dat file after so much time, most probably I have transfered the funds to some exchange (it could be cryptorush or cryptsy), but I doubt these exchanges are still alive.

So it's just for interest really? If the transfer happened more recently and the exchanges were still alive it may be possible to use a block explorer to conclude that the deposit went to a hot wallet, but the chances of doing that now are pretty slim.

Do you think it would have been sent around the time you posted your address in the thread? I do have some basic block explorer tools but since they work at the block # level, and it only processes about 2-3 blocks per second, it would need to be a pretty tight date range.

Here's some activity I found in February 2014, but it's inbound only. To see where funds were subsequently sent from this address would require a fully indexed block explorer.
