Are there a website for hashrate and block infos, diff change over time?
Any negotiations about using the coin besides mining.. I got feeling everybody wants to mine to get rich in the future but we all should to whatever we can to get that coin widely used next to btc and ltc... all it will die (no use for money if ppl hold it and no-one uses it)

we are working on several things at the moment, including block explorer, pool mining and applications... we will also get to exchanges, of course.

Miners (cgminer or bfgminer) cant detect my ASIC USB Block Erupter.
Im instal driver and my PC see COM device.
Help plz Sad

if you are working under windows, you will need to get the correct drivers:

1 - detach you usb block erupters
2 - download and install drivers from here: http://www.silabs.com/products/mcu/Pages/USBtoUARTBridgeVCPDrivers.aspx [you will see appear new serial ports, these are the usb block erupters]
3 - plug your usb block erupters
4 - launch the miner

Superb! If you need community help, let us (me) know. I am thinking of one service I'd start on MED also... Smiley but backend API needs some more development and adding MED support also.

it seems that we got one case where the miner got an accepted block but it was not accredited as new block ,so we have the logs to study.... will follow up later.

One case is great. Overnight, I got 8 shares accepted in few hours and 0 blocks mined. Too painful to watch it at miner screen so
I shut it down before taking screenshot, stupid me. I checked debug.log (MED wallet was running with -debug and -debugnet) but
nothing unusual is there. I know what debug.log is supposed to look like, I was doing testing of Bitcoin-Qt on main and testnet
and many other altcoin Qt wallets. Let me know if you spotted some weird pattern or direct evidence of problem in your debug.log

As a sidenote, when solo mining on Bitcoin testnet without LP, same settings for CGMiner or BFGMiner, the ratio of rejected blocks
is around 10% of total blocks mined. Because there is no proxy of any kind between Bitcoin wallet and miner I can see that hashes
are rejected on miner screen. With MED it seems that mcproxy is either not submitting all hashes (but it reports them as accepted)
or does not return a message to miner about hash rejected by MED wallet. As a result, percentage of actualy rejected hashes and
thus blocks is huge, maybe even over 50% for me.

As I typed text above shit hitted the fan again, check it out bellow:

Tell you what, I'm giving up on bumping this thread, bumping giveaway or anything else related to MED. Situation right now is starting
to painfully remind me of almost a dozen other altcoins where I was mining with much less hashpower than most others, where I was
attempting to solve issues, run giveaways and so on and no one else seems to give any shit about altcoin. I'm fucking tired of being a
witness of shits and more shits and less of my free time while some retard or legion of them are getting 10+ more coins than me but
doing absolutely nothing to add value to those same coins he or they are mining. You devs and me debating here with everyone else
jumping in maybe once or never yet mining with much more hashrate than we are mining with just don't feel right, bye!

theres nothing here. message me if you want to put something here.

You devs and me debating here with everyone else
jumping in maybe once or never yet mining with much more hashrate than we are mining with just don't feel right, bye!

we are sorry that you are angered by this situation; if it can help, we can try to compensate this by sending you the amount of MED you feel to have lost, no problem. Just give us an estimate of the number of blocks and we will consider it at the full rate of 100 MED per block.

we think that your contribution to this forum is really useful and we (and I think many other users) appreciate your help, of course if all this experience brings to you at least fun and progress (i.e. new technologies to develop).

Also we would like to say that we are going to clarify this problem and put 101% of our skill and energy  to solve it.

EDIT: we have understood the problem; no "Accepted blocks" were lost; the main problem (now corrected in mcproxy on github) is that the accept/reject response from the wallet/daemon was not passed back to the miner, which instead got always an "accept" message.

Synching the block chain is very slow

you can download from here a snapshot of the blockchain (2014-01-10):

www.mediterraneancoin.org/downloads/med-blockchain-20140110.tgz

ATTENTION: when restarted, the daemon will do a rescan of the blockchain, which might take a few hours on slower machines. So in the end it can be more convenient to download the blockchain.

instructions:
1 - stop the wallet (or the daemon) if is not running
2 - backup your wallet.dat file [this operation will not touch wallet.dat but it is always safe to make a backup of your wallet]
3 - inside .mediterraneancoin directory remove the previous blocks and chainstate directories
4 - uncompress the content of the archive inside .mediterraneancoin directory
5 - restart the wallet (or the daemon)
6 - wait for the wallet/daemon to complete the block rescan (might take hours!)

Your sha256 asic speed is proportional to CPU Power of Java mcProxy Wink
I have  a BFL 30ghs. With bitcoin work at 33ghs, here at 28ghs with 64bit java/15ghs with 32bit java.
mcproxy cap at 100% 1 core of my cpu. I think that it prepare scrypt part of MED proof of work.

Hi,

If I bought an Erupter, how long would it take to break even with this coin? roughly.. at the current time?

At current time MediterraneanCoin is not exchangeable on exchange platform... we wait for IPO Smiley

Been mining happily away with my erupter since I got it working, haven't had any issues so far Smiley

Definitely liking this coin, hopefully more people gain interest in it. It's nice to be able to reuse some lower-powered ASIC's and feel like you're actually getting some reward (rather than BTC.00000001/day).

Obviously I am satisfied continuing to solo mine since I'm getting a block or two every few hours which is great. However, is there any news/updates on how the p2pool is coming along? Would be great to get some more steady payouts with lower variance Smiley

Everyone should post in this thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=400513.0

to get MED added to http://newchg.com/

It's a great little site designed to help buyers and sellers contact each other by posting bids/asks linked to your bitcointalk.org profile. Handy little website that is great for exchanging newly released coins Smiley

Also, the devs should contact some sites like http://altdice.net/ etc to get some services up and running so this coin can get some circulation and more exposure.

hi all,
as per your suggestion, just got in touch with the devs at http://newchg.com/ and http://altdice.net/.

also, if anybody feels like pushing our request on cryptsy exchange, you can post something here:
