I have mined a total of about 7 blocks solo on 7mh/s since launch.

Wow.  Are you really unlucky, or am I really lucky?  I've found 6 blocks with around 400 kH solo.

1% premine as first block is 0.42. what will you use it for?

Well I know he's been giving some away.  I got some yesterday. Smiley

However, he did leave that little tidbit out in the announcement.

If I wanted to be REALLY nitpicky I could say that he actually lied about it because it says "The first 419 blocks will be 0.00000010" when in fact the first block is 0.42 and 2-419 are .00000010.

Jus' sayin'.

he did mention it somewhere although I don't recall where.

I did post on the first page of the thread that its a possibility. I have mined a total of about 15 blocks solo on 7mh/s since launch. It is very hard to promote a coin with nothing to giveaway. Some went to get the site designed. Some went to push media promotions. Some has gone and will continue to go to the giveaway, and eventually I will have a faucet set up to give out coins.

The money to promote has to come from somewhere.

Also, If I was trying to hide it, I could have just deleted that part from the source code after mining the block. I didn't, it is there for all to see.

I wrestled with the idea of doing any kind of premine. I was quite vocal about that in this thread.

I understand that. I really have no issues with a reasonably sized premine as long as it's used for it's intended purpose. I'm just big on full disclosure so if you did announce it and I missed it, then I apologize.

There's a lot of shadiness and scamming happening 'round these parts and I like this coin. I want it to succeed. Little details like that can plant a seed of doubt that grows into a tree of coindeath.

Edit: And speaking of intended purpose.. I never got any coins in the 42C giveaway!

UPDATE
Just to clear things up, and to promote transparency. I would like to let everyone know that there was a small 1% block mined before launch. This block was/is intended to help promote 42. I am and will continue to host the giveaway. Some has gone to the development of the website. Some has gone to advertise. Some has gone to bounty's. Eventually alot will go to the faucet I am building. I wrestled with the thought of doing this but the coin must be promoted and that is very difficult with no coins to give for giveaways or bounty's.

We currently have some of the best marketing professionals working on 42. I have no doubt that this coin will be a huge success.

POSTPONED 24 HOURS

I would like to apologize but when I re-forked worldcoin and started over I missed one of my changes and its not allowing transactions to be sent. -.-
I will pour over my old version and new version and see what I missed. Check back tomorrow.

Again, I'm sorry for the delay.

Seriously? Isn't that why there is a testnet? Sad

Anyhow; another delay won't hurt...

I had it working just fine on the original version but when I went to change the Port it got all screwy so I started over. I just missed one of the changes I made. It shouldn't be too hard to find and This will allow more testing.

Does that mean we need to trash the rar file?
I think yes.

Nice. Definitely appreciated. Hiding this kind of info and having it come out as some scandal later can be a big detriment. People get so up in arms recently and are so quick to point the "pump and dump" finger that it's easy to offend the masses and let your hard work get tossed into the abyss.

I think you guys have done a good job with the coin even if it is a bit of a novelty right now. That novelty is starting to turn into legitimacy. I'm curious to see where it goes.

I have been mining solo and pool mining, mostly solo mining.

My hash rate is 700Khs and have so far solo mining I have found 8 blocks which means I think that I am doing ok. My ambition haha, is to get one 42 coin, then print it out and hang it on my wall...blown up of course ROFL with a title.....I am one of the 42.

Luckiest part of the day yesterday was when I got 2 blocks a few minutes apart.

Oh and can I just say, it is quite refreshing to read a topic without someone bitching about a coin or complaining.

I like the fact that this coin is so different from the rest, the Developer has seemed to take his time to test it and make it quite interesting. Ok, we only get small pieces of coin so in a way it was like when I was mining for bitcoins a few months back but, the fact that it is only 42 coins makes it quite alluring, I am quite addicted to it, like when some people get stamps or collect baseball cards etc, for me I am starting to enjoying collecting 42 coin Smiley

Thanks for your support! I think its definitely headed in the right direction.. and especially when the opportunity is 99% in the communities hands instead of the founders of the coin.. This truly makes it a people's coin... and being such a low amount, its actually fun for everyone to mine it... plus! Time is running out... we are averaging 0.12/mined coins a day.. so expect to see an increase of popularity soon, and that just means more coins going out of the 42 bucket, and more into the hands of the community. It's fair for everyone to make this happen! Let's all work together and achieve a new standard level in the crypto industry.
