Scrypt ASICs mean nothing to the 42.  "Mining" by small timers is not so important.  PoS handles that.

I do not think so.  PoS was discussed as one of the options (at least by posters in this thread), but I think the devs went with KGW instead.

This won't be the first, nor the last time a group/corporation has tried to improve their public image by exploiting a charity or the needy.

Currently Sean's Outpost is only accepting Bitcoin as a payment method for donations to his cause. 42 would like to see Sean's outpost accepting another payment method which is 42 coin.  We hope the 42 coin community joins us on this plan to help feed more people who are in need when times are tough, and we should put all our efforts into making this into a reality.

This is not a company- this is a payment gateway- 42 coin is a payment method as one of the digital currencies in the community.  We will stand by anyone doing good things, and any adoption with the '42 coin' payment gateway.  This is what every crypto currency needs to do- gain full support from the community to doing more for its gateway, and we appreciate all of those working towards this same goal.
