1. backup your wallet and conf files.
1b. backup your wallet and conf files again.

2. try adding these nodes to your conf file;

addnode=162.243.222.146
addnode=198.199.116.77
addnode=162.243.205.200
addnode=162.243.49.230
addnode=162.243.222.146
addnode=198.199.116.77
addnode=162.243.205.200
addnode=162.243.49.230
addnode=72.187.27.243:24242
addnode=188.178.145.136:24242
addnode=85.238.96.186:24242
addnode=24.212.252.61:24242

if no luck, then you may have to

3. delete the blockchain files (NOT your wallet.dat or .conf)

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

What's broken with the wallet?

It seems I spoke too soon.  My wallet seems to sync now.  There were complaints before.

Probably nothing except that zadai532 JUST REPORTED a problem.

zadai532: my previous experience with not fully syncing was that transactions occurred normally.
You did not say that your transaction did not show up...
...but you sound distressed and the wallet creates the key that allows you to use your balance, so...
I suspect you are not able to use your balance.  Correct?

So we just hardcode the nodes into a new wallet. No big deal.

Thanks for getting back to me. I went into %appdata% and deleted blkooo1.dat and and still didn't work on a resrart. I deleted the wallet (not the important stuff) redownloaded and deleted blk0001.dat AND blkindex.dat then started the wallet and there she is! all synced up this afternoon and my crypto is showing!!!

By the way, in the de-bug file it had set to stop at 230659, so I changed that to, unchecked proxy socks in settings, and added version 60001, blocks=0 in the confg. Maybe one or two would have been enough but the rest were causing problems on all the compueters so I did it all to one wallet and VOILA  Cheesy

Oh, btw again, all my nodes were fine but that might help someone else...good list you put up!

Terri

With only 42 coins, what's the point?

Exactly. Without hype and uses the limited amount of coins basically means that it is dead coin hashing right now.

There are seriously interesting alts out there, not sure why this coin is zombieing along!

I think the hype is that all the "dot 0's" are still fractions of a large value coin. I don't expect to get one of the 42 but I also don't expect to find a Bitcoin block either, but I mine them also, and play the faucets.

I was taught to save my pennies growing up, now I'm collecting "dust"!

Each to his own. At least 42 has less to fall right now.

     Try hashfaster or forkpool. I go back and forth between the two and also switch to other alts to build up a little nest egg  Wink

 diggerpool.com have been a positive website so far...  no registration is required and easy to use solo mining base concepts are in use by default.. just create a receiving coin address  from your 42 wallet and that becomes your user name. example this is my donate address 4Jnvppc3tQTk6VArFTK3AhUF5fN3HixwNA (which is my 42coin donate address) would be used in guiminer as the username and you can choose any password just use diggerpool.com com as host name and port is 3449 !! if you use my address/username to check if your setup/equipment is working and just leave a message here to see if i get any work from you to check if that 42 pool is any good.. its been hard to find a pool and these new 42 sites are better because you get paid quick within 24 hours, your solo miner progress is tracked  and to if you can't get your miner to work i would next try to learn and use the wallet bulit in solo miner mode and it works but its a cpu miner and just recently i got guiminer current version and its good to see solo miner mode requires no password and one receive address is required and  getting paid in every hour to know your equipment and wallet is working and that is a good feeling!!!  just create a new address if you know what you are doing so I dont have consently check to  but like many others im new in 42coin and its been a different but postive concept so far    make sure youre using a 7.00 ver or higher wallet..  i just experience a hardfork and for days im trying to still recover my wallet.  ive read the whole post on this site  but i still cant get my 7.0 wallet to read my wallet correctly.  Sad

So after days of mining not knowing it had been abandoned I got over 1 BTC! But lost it to Cryptsy, so they are trying to find it, which is fine. So then I read these comments they helped me so thank you also the wallet 42 QT 7.0 Build seems to be syncing fine now, it would sync, then go like halfway back and freeze. So I messaged hendo420 on skype and he said this `I am no longer the lead dev of 42coin. Soopy took over awhile back and did a hard fork. This is probably why you are getting stuck at block 70000. If it actually sent on the official 42 blockchain then Bigvern at Cryptsy should not have a problem helping you. If it sent on the old chain then you will have to get the newest client and rescan to recover the coins.`

So has it has been abandoned, or not? Who is this Soopy character and wtf is he doing? Why is 42coin.org not up? Shouldn't someone just buy a coin or two or three from Cryptsy, take over this thread, put up a new official website, do another fork if necessary, and make a small fortune in 42coin? Or is the market for scrypt coins that bleak? I don't think it is that bleak. I nominate Zvs!

I'm testing a 42 pool - pm me if you're interested in mining. I've been mining 42 for the last 24 hours and transferred my mined coins to cryptsy just fine.
good luck
