It will take a while to find a block depending on your hashrate - if your hash rate is 1Mhash it will take about 2 hours to find a block (337 coins) at the current difficulty
It's actually pretty easy to set up.
First, go to your Nyancoin data folder (by default in windows this is: C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Nyancoin)
Create a new text file in that folder, paste in the following text:

Now save the file as "nyancoin.conf"
Re-Launch the wallet and let it connect - it needs to fully sync before you can start mining.
Now go back to your cgminer .bat file - where you would normally put your pool info put this instead: localhost:33700
your username will be nyan and your password is nyannyan (you can set this to whatever you want in the .conf file)
Now launch your .bat and it will start solo-mining.
When you find a block 337 coins will automagically appear in your wallet
