Solo mining is more fun than pool mining.

Is anyone using the pool: http://cpu-pool.net/q2c ?

From one moment to the other I'm only getting invalid shares on all machines in this pool..

After that I also tried solo mining, but, with 0.5MHs, I got nothing after a few (~4) hours.

Thanks.

I would keep at it. I have 0.7MHs and have gotten 4 shares in about 20hrs. Solo mining has more variance but it's worth it as long as you are getting at least one share every few days IMO. Don't have to worry about scams or fees.

I use it, 6 threads on a litte i7 930 getting 350 kh/s, and 98%+ shares accepted.

Do what works for you, I just prefer solo mining if variance isn't too high because you don't have to worry about a pool being up, hackers, scammers, pool fees, etc. It's just simpler.

I'm using 8 threads of an i7 @ 2.26GHz and getting around 260khash/s. With 2 computers I'm generating ~0.5Mh/s.
I found the problem with my invalid shares: just needed to restart the computer.. :-)

I will try some solo mining later too. Thanks for the advice!

Cheers.

Great! About 50% of my computer problems are solved by just restarting haha.

Very nice how software works!  Smiley

Just to know: is there any way to know what's the network hashrate for Q2C?
Last time I looked in the mining info (using wallet) I couldn't find.

My guess, based on the Pool Hash rate and blocks found by it is about 370MH/s, but it would be nice to know the exact value.

Thanks!

Unfortunately currenty there is no reference (yet?) in source code about network hash rate, that's why I'm hiding that info on qubitchain.info.

This is a nice coin and I can see this coin having a future, but it needs  a Large and well ORGANISED Community, good marketing, promotion and BRANDING!!!

For branding examples look at Earthcoin, DigiByte and DogeCoin -- all of them are pre-mined shit-coins, but because of branding they managed to build quite a big communities.

My suggestions for re-branding: don't call it Qubit or Qubitcoin. Qubit sounds too much like Cubit, and this could often lead to confusion.  The brand must be UNIQUE!!!  And Qubitcoin sounds too much like "Bitcoin", and, in addition, there are already too many "coins" already (Litecoin, CasinoCoin, AnonCoin, WorldCoin, DogeCoin, PrimeCoin etc) -- we need something simple and UNIQUE!!!  Call it simply
Qbit

And instead of the confusing "Q2C", the ticker code will be simply its name: QBIT.

With this simple and short name you will be able to design a better branding and catchy logo.

If you agree and like my idea, send QBIT  to GRHW1MbaLkrBG24ddXf4Kvtn3112dUNKqP

Also about the Qbit website:  I'm a professional web-developer and I could build a very-very powerful website with internal social network, local communities (like on Reddit), groups (like FB), project management (like Kickstarter), forum, events (like FB), but, sorry, no self respecting developer would do it for 25,000 Qbits, which even at the prices that people are selling at currently (and I'm not sure if anyone is buying), comes to less than 250 USD.

You are somewhat right, this coin has nice, complete new and unique algo and a very good code development.
Problem is everything else is missing, ad it needs more than good coding for a coin to survive these days.
In the long run the coin needs design, advertising and management to get more people addicted.

I totally agree with you! Marketing (branding, logos, site, forum, social, etc) is very important for people who don't understand the goodness of an algorithm in altercoins.

I like Qbit because it's unique and QBIT sounds good, if devs and community are agree too and you develop a professional site, ALL OF US (me first and other miners I hope) will send you bounties and donations (>1000 Qbit).
