I'm kind of new to altworld.  Can someone explain to me, will there be a list of pools I can connect to or does this have to be solo-mined?  Will the GPU miner be available exactly at time of launch or a few hours before launch so everyone can be prepared to launch at the same time?
The block chain is the main innovation of Bitcoin. It is the first distributed timestamping system.

directly on launch there will be official pools with custom software that is being finalised as we speak. This will include custom a custom api connection to our website relaying real time statistics.

Solo mining will also be possible.

We are working hard to realese miners on all platforms. We are still looking for a Mac specialist!

So you will provide a list of pools exactly at time of launch?  It would be nice if the information is available at least an hour before launch so everyone can start at the same time but I guess no big deal. Hopefully, you can recommend only pools that are legit because apparently there have been a lot of scamming going on with pop-up pool owners.  Would make your coin more legit to start with only known reliable pool operators.

we will endorce only official pools with our own software, unofficials pools are not reccomended, since we have no affiliation with them, multiple people have contacted us regarding making a pool, and we will select a few , and distribute our custom software to them. However we cant do this at once with every request , since we need to maintain control to prevent 51% attack....so we will gradually add more if needed.

we will launch with at least 2 official pools, and it is highly reccomended to sign up with one of these 2 (unless you wish to solo mine offcourse, which is also fine)

Wait a second.. So the devs are controlling all the pools, and the client for solo mining?

That concerns me greatly. So theoretically, there could be an "optimized" client out there and a "normal" release version? Please explain.

http://utc.hackshard.com is available for pre-registration.  Note the statistics page will show that the coin is already being mined. this is because I have it connected to a dummy wallet of another coin until the proper wallet is released.

Hope so. However if it's made open source, they don't have to "distribute" the custom software right?   Embarrassed

In my opinion, to prevent 51% attack we need more pools instead few official pools. By the way scrypt-jane is already doing well against 51% attack.

I also hope I can also create a pool for UTC.

Most scrypt-jane coins come with their own mining software so I have no idea. I think they are based on YACminer or YBCminer

I've heard that YaCoin miner is a modified version of CGMiner for Scrypt Jane.
