I chose bitmixer.io when the problems with bitcoinfog started. This service was good - low %, several parameters to choose. That was so until this morning. I added the forward address, set time delay, and tried to download letter of guarantee - result - empty window with words - Address not found. I've tried several times with .io site and .onion mirror. Always same result. May be that was kind of a glitch and i sent tester - 1btc ... poor bitcoin got lost in a black hole  support says "Sadly without the letter of guarantee I can not help. You should always download the letter first before sending any funds. " So +225$ to your piggy bank guys! Now I move to send-shared! Have a good day! |

Im assuming this is a malicious exit node changing the redirect from the homepage to a malicious .onion link instead of the real address. This is not the only thing they could change. Never trust clearnet sites when using tor. Even to redirect to a .onion url I visited bitmixer.io and clicked the pop up link to redirect me to the onion url. But did not end up at the real bitmixer onion url Real .onion address: bitmixer2whesjgj.onion Fake .onion address: bitmix6zfuz7zmnv.onion Everything appeared legitimate until you go to download the letter of guarantee. At which point you are presented with the following error "Address not found." Please NEVER send coins if you can't download and verify the Letter of Guarantee. You are probably victim of fishing site.

themerkle That is a great article on bitmixer.io. I can certainly confirm my own positive experiences with bitmixer. They mixed some 65,000 BTC last month. Wow..., that works out to a nice profit! But, I am willing to pay my way because of their service, which I liked enough to sign up for their signature campaign. Someone who comes up with a nice service ought to make whatever money his service is worth to customers, and it looks like bitmixer.io hit the "Sweet Spot": makes big money providing a great service that is executed well. |

They seem to be a reliable site but the only thing I would add that they don´t appear to be using is a certificate like all the major exchanges do. It gives an extra layer of security above ssl, especialy when you are transmitting signatures (letters of guarantee)

I just want to say I feel at least scammed by BITMIXER.IO
Why?
The site tells you to download the Letter of Guarantee and confirm it before sending any coins to mix.
When I anciently didn't the site did NOT send the coins.
Any times i did download it does.
So this might not be a scam yet WHY DOES IT NOT SEND THE COINS IF YOU DO NOT DOWNLOAD THE LETTER?
I mean it could just send the coins even if you do not download the letter but it does not. Really shifty practice. This is in the code!
I do not trust this site. FIX THAT OR YOU ARE AND WILL BE IN THE REALM OF SHIFTY DN GARBAGE!
The site is designed to steel from people who ware dumb-asses like me who sometimes don't pay attention.
I lost a big amount of money.
Support could not help.

All this could be avoided if anonymity were top priority within bitcoin development, so that we could have an implementation inside the main client...
I guess we'll have to wait for some sidechain miracle (if it arrives)...
Meanwhile JoinMarket is still too Alpha for general use...

It will have no effect on their business. They clearly has not scam anyone because it is a user's fault and by accident he send it to the donation address, they have made it very clear that anything sent to that address will be keep as a donation |
