Fantastic! I received a few PM's from members in/around nyc who want to attend, this is going to be a great event.
The beauty of this is that its run by companies outside the Bitcoin community, so I hope the media and everyone who follows the event can look at it more objectively
Streaming content, micro-payments, and bitcoin. Sounds like Mozilla can make a big play here.
Thats the plan, I spoke to the event organizer yesterday and he tells me that Mozilla is looking to have a leg up on their competition. A well liked idea for videos/blogs/journalism is micropyament and tipping, what better currency to take advantage of than Bitcoin!
It could be a big step into the main stream economy.
During this weekend, a big goal will be meeting, getting the ideas, and convincing some of the CEO's and VP's who will be there to not be afraid of Bitcoin and furthermore how to properly value it.
Its a large list!
http://openvideoconference.org/people/ Awesome... any change there will be video of this?
Theres a webcast of the keynote speakers and events, but not for the individual sessions.
Someone from this community who asked to attend mentioned he will bring a pro photographer though!
...Any chance the media will pay attention?
YES!!!!
Dont forget, this conference is not just about Bitcoin, it covers a large general subject.
In addition, the keynote speakers are from the Electronic Frontier Foundation, Internet Archive, New America and more!
