I like this idea but where is this section? I can't find it. Nowadays, there's a discrimination among New users vs. Old member. Why they need to judge a person rather than helping it? It's a big question mark for me. They also want the newbies to get banned just he/she did a mistake and calling them spammers even they don't? What kind of person they are? Everyone of us always done a mistake and God always forgive us and give us chance to make all the things right. I hope they also know how to act accordingly. Stop acting like they are the superior.

Have these rules been changed since this thread was first created? My status is not updating.
They are more or less the same, the only new addition I can think of is Copper Membership. This is your first post, what status were you expecting your account to have? Activity does not update immediately, as you can see mine is currently two below my post count. I would check out this thread, as it explains member ranks more thoroughly.

Don't worry. It takes a few minutes for your number of posts and status to update. If you post regularly, in a few weeks you'll be moving up the chain.

somewhat related: Why do PMs from newbies not display in email notifications? I understand and appreciate the warning that this is not an established account, but what's the danger in showing the content?

so what is "activity" anyway? As opposed to post count. What is used to calculate the activity score?
Thanks, have wondered but seemed here was a good time to bring it up.
Exactly my question. Because I seem to notice the logged number of hours.

Exactly my question. Because I seem to notice the logged number of hours. Number of hours logged in has absolutely nothing to do with activity. Activity is the number of two week periods you have posted in. Simply put, you can only get 14 activity points every two week period you have posted in.

I think this is pretty much what you are looking for. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2385104At least it helped me to get around the tough PM restrictions when I tried to sell something. As a newbie seller you can't deal with 2 PMs per day. Except if you are trying to sell your grandma's shorts...

Nice
We really don't appreciate you bumping a year old thread with a useless post. I've put you on ignore for doing it, and I hope that other merit awarders will do the same. That will stop you ever ranking up.

Sorry if I'm misunderstanding your question, but are you asking about Units of Evil? The thing that requires you pay a fee when registering a new account on an IP that has previously been banned?

That's ok, my English is not so perfect to signify every thought in my head In a short word, from the OP I understood that it is possible to bring back proxybanned profile by paying the fee, which is around 1$. So, my questions are: 1. How to know were you proxybanned or another kind banned? 2. What is the address for the fee to take of the ban?

Was frantically searching for this on Google in a bid to apply for airdrops whose minimum requirement is being a memeber
even though it's quite a lot, that is, having to make 30 posts to move atleast to a Junior member, it helps keep the forum active. Would take months before i become a full member

I think it was a good experiment. I also think it's run it's course and has failed. Respectfully request you reinstate the old methods. The forums are full of trash and scammers now.

You do know that the core context of this thread is now over four years old, and that the "ban changes" in the thread's subject is relative to 2014, and not the changes that took effect on January 2018 when the merit system was introduced right? There’s not much point in bumping-up old threads and mixing both sets of rules now..

I kind of answered what you asked for here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3320052.msg34678855#msg34678855-It shows average posts per day. Not exactly what you were looking for but perhaps more ilustrating.
