Rig had crashed and was totally powered off.

Checked everything thought perhaps power supply had died.  Checked all the power wires. Hit the on switch a few times on the motherboard.

Bang - massive sparks and smoke from the board of the card.  Had heard these gigabytes windforce 3 explode after a while.

Strangely rig is up and hashing away fine now?

How is this card still hashing?  something seriously exploded from the board of this card?

Sounds like moisture build up or a capacitor exploded. Some cards will run fine if one is damaged, others not so much, it will put stress on the rest of the components. I'd turn it off for safe measure, take the shell off and have a look before something bad happens again. Or damage another hardware component.

Yeah i think a capacitor exploded. That rig is hashing but around 20kh less than usual on all cards.

Strange how it is still working okay. I had a look and can see a black mark on the back of the card.

I'll run it for 24 hours and see what happens. I guess i will rma it if more issues since it is not 1 year old yet.

man, it's really better to power it off and check now. Trust me, I have some experience with hardware, and it can finish bad.

Yeah i agree, i did power the rig down again and rebooted. I inspected the card. I could just remove that card for now and leave the others hashing.
I am just shocked it can still hash after this.

DUDE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED TO MY CARD IN THE SAME FUCKING DAY!With the only exception that I run a single gpu system and now It won't boot. Do you think this is just a coincidence? I was mining in this new trademybit pool with the parameters I've been using for almost a year now while it happened.

Well if it is a gigabyte windforce card i think these do pop now and then. Mine is under one year so i am going to rma it before it fucks up completely.
