Ten bitcons a week is lousy two grand something. Seems like a great deal for all the advertising exposure they get here.

I see bit-x more often. They don't get much.
I do not like their privacy options. I won't give them my personal data and/or Phone number.

You just need to give phone number but after this payment period, they will allow signup with email and without providing phone no..

Ten bitcons a week is lousy two grand something. Seems like a great deal for all the advertising exposure they get here.

But exposure doesn't necessarily translate into income for them. They've already previously stated it's not massively effective. Most people here don't need to mix their coins so it's an entirely different business compared to gambling sites.

The exposure may not bring them customers immediately, but the effect could be in a longer term. Those reading the sig ad may not need to mix their coins now, but when they need to, they will likely pick a mixer they knew.

True and that's why some exposure/forum presence is good but the current amount they have likely isn't beneficial to them and is a waste of money. They'd be better off with a smaller campaign and fewer members IMO.

Well, I don´t have access to their books, nor am I privy to their marketing plans and objectives so i couldn´t say.

But I don´t consider two grand something any gigantic sum. Since their business is mixing bitcoins I´m sure they´re swimming in bitcoins. Maybe they need to get rid of some of them  Grin

Yes, it is! It is best for us but not for them. They shouldn't be allowing these much users as people don't mix daily and they will only get less profit from this but I doubt they will even make a profit.

Swimming in their customers bitcoins that they give right back and only take a small fee for their service? Hardly a massive mark-up.

I've posted something interesting some weeks ago about their volume and what they earn:
Quote
Actually, Bitmixer moves 25000BTC/month in their mixing service.
There's a 0.5% fee, so that's approximately ~125BTC/month (profit). Remember that you can add an extra of 0.0005BTC for every forward address added on the mixing process.  Wink

franckuestein

That was a very interesting link re bitmixer.io, thanks for posting it.  It does not surprise me at all that their service is popular.  I have used their mixing service many times to get my incremental BTC purchases into cold storage.

I have not used their TOR option (and I am not sure I want to spend the time to learn TOR and expose myself to any of the risks there).  But the fact that bitmixer.io has such an option means they are serving those customers as well.

I am very impressed by what their team has accomplished.
