the risk point of investing in crypto is choosing the wrong coin and not having a high price. Nowadays there are so many choices of coins, where we should be more selective and more aware of the ico offering ico promotions. so I think now we should be smart to see the situation whether the crypto coin is worth to be invested or not.

The factor may be the panic situation and wrong decision and time to sell the coins. I think Risks are always present in crypto investments such as bitcoins that are risky to invest if you are a shorter investor because of the fluctuating price. sometimes you will lose some or all of your money. Be patient and have a solid mind. always research first before investing because there are many ICO today that is a scam.

The market is FULL of scams and shit projects. If you want to avoid them you HAVE to do your own research and not just listen to what other people tell you to buy. Until you really understand a coin, stick to coins in the top 2 by market cap and after understanding the market a bit better, you can start making riskier investments. Volatility is HUGE in this space and if you don't know what you are doing it is easy to get wrecked.

Agree. In my oopinion, 95% of ICOs today are scams. Sorry to say that, but that is my opinion shaped by working in the field. If you have a look at white papers, most do not have any concrete plan as to how they are going to monetize their "brilliant" ideas; not to mention, that some projects are nonsense - blockchain is not needed there at all. But the marketing guys concoct their official sheet shit where they bombard potential victims with complicated terms and bulky sentences to completely confuse them and capitalize on human desire to get rich overnight. All white papers promise to "revolutionise " and "change forever" something. But think about it for a moment - to bring something completely new and worthy into this world costs effort, sweat and tears. It needs EXPERTISE and HARD WORK. Without both of them any "innovative" idea will go lost - along with the money invested. So, in short: after you have learnt the bascis of the crypto, check 1. the team, 2. the whitepaper. 3. the roadmap.

There is a huge risk in every investment and investing in cryptocurrency is very much risky. A newbie like you will have a hard time dealing with these risks and it is a good thing to seek help. This is my list of risks.
- Cryptocurrency's price is community driven. Better examine the community of a specific coin before going in.
- Do not invest based from opinions. It is always good to spare some time to conduct research before investing. The opinions of others is not as important as the facts you can gather.
- Invest only an amount that you can afford to lose. A strong coin can get weak in an instant so invest at your own risk at all times.

Not only in ethereum but in bitcoin value too. As per january and the bitcoin price has reached the peak that was around 20k. Risk of crypto was involving a lot of factors. There are some factors right now that become the risk point in the crypto currency.
The price can be manipulated through spread FUD or fake news, The market can be manipulated with a lot of funds (mtgox and EOS).

There are so many areas that may influence the course of a project and with that the risk involved when investing in it. It isn't that easy to define, besides the obvious give-aways. Let's say you buy in for 1 eth. After ICO it hits the exchanges and it becomes 1,5eth in a day, then dropping to 0,5eth...did you already take a big risk and did you lose? Perhaps it takes many months to reach 1eth again, or perhaps only a few weeks. Perhaps it reaches 3eth in 2 months, but then there's some fud or other issues and it could drop back to 0,5eth again in a day orso. Most of my investments are long term and I try not to spend too much energy in the daily risks involved. I'll check back in EOY or later...(of course I check daily, but I don't act on it). Most of the coins in crypto world controlled by whales they decide when to pump and when to dump coin. There is no proven strategy in crypto currency till now.
