Why alot of people are talking shit here and are promoting THC, CANN and DOPE? Because you are afraid to loose your investment on these 3 coins, so you want other people be afraid of the POT market to join in the other coins. However, look at DOPE and CANN, they are in red of the 50% after the pump of yesterday when POT coin has a bigger support also on high prices, it lost only a little part of the pump, lost the 25%, that is more healty for a coin, and show that here, and in THC there are no manipulations on the price, or even, not so big manipulation as DOPE and CANN that are really shit coins.

I'd be curious to know if you even know what Potcoin's business model is? I know what Dopecoin's is.

I hold all these coins, and I know I've had my differences with DopeCoin dev (regarding the name DopeCoin) but Dopey is the only dev I have seen really working hard at bringing crypto to the marijuana industry to solve their banking problems.

DopeCoin is the only one I've seen so far with constant updates and the dev is very responsive to people.

PotCoin is good but there is not much activity except for Dennis Rodman marketing it every chance he gets (which is good for all weed coins).

Potcoin has been very good market for whole last year. It still has very decent volume on Bittrex where I am used to trade it. I do think this market is in consolidation once again for quite some time. People here know this project need not hype on name of incomplete updates on social media like some people are trying here.

Question - I mined this coin back in the day when it was new, then ended up disappearing from crypto for a while. Fast forward a couple years, I just updated the wallet, sync'ed up, and I find that POS functionality was added (cool!)

I unlocked my wallet for staking and it instantly generated a small chunk of new coins (still waiting for a ton of confirmations but whatever, I see it, clearly pending)

My question is, I have thousands of these coins and the reward generated was pretty small, less than 1% of my wallet balance. But then if I hover over the little "up arrow" icon at the bottom of the wallet, it says my average weight, total weight, and that I'm expected to generate a reward in 13 hours. That time keeps changing, I swear at one point it said 12, 14, 18 etc.

Can someone point me to like a basic explanation of how potcoin POS staking or whatever it's called works? With other coins (for example mint) I just turned the wallet on, told it to stake, and boom - I got a one-time giant reward as I had not staked in years. This potcoin system seems to be much more complex. One of the things I am trying to understand is, how long do I need to keep the wallet up and unlocked for staking, in order to catch up 100% on any interest I am due at this point?

Honestly this may sound trivial but potcoin also has the best name. Dopecoin is the worst in that regard... Who actually says "dope" or calls weed "dope" anymore? Idiots and teenagers. Anyone with actual money, like more than $20 in their bank account, is not likely to be too keen on "dopecoins." Hempcoin is similarly dumb but not as bad... hemp really primarily comes from the male plant, aka the nearly useless variant, not the one that produces weed.

Simply put, potcoin has the best name of the three.

Also, if you stop simply comparing them all together because they are similar in target demographic, and instead compare potcoin to other altcoins, it has done incredibly well. Most altcoins never reach 1 penny value guys... come on. Potcoin is still sitting at $0.15 per unit even after all the crazy dives of the last few days... that is remarkable. If you were in early, say if you mined it and actually contributed something, vs yet another douche bag investor expecting to make a fortune in a few months, you are probably very content with it right now.

Yeah I played around with it over a few days, in general the staking seems pretty minor / frankly not worth the hassle to open the wallet and have it stake for peanuts so I'm just not bothering with that now.  In theory I guess they are trying to get people to keep the wallet open 24x7 to secure the network but I can't be bothered with that for... ~5% lol.

I'm content to hold and wait for value to continue to go up, especially as more states go forward with legal marijuana initiatives.

When your coins are all sitting in balance (not sitting in staking) but the green staking light suddenly comes on (below right hand side). At that exact time..... CLOSE your wallet. (hit the X)

leave it alone now for at least 48 hrs or more. Then open your app, and OPEN your wallet. Your earned coins will come in shortly. Should be more than what you have been getting. 6 to 10 coins per 10,000 coins approx. (not per day though)

In my opinion, Potcoin WANTS us to keep our wallets open to help secure the network. However.... the amount of coins earned from an OPEN wallet, isn't worth it to me.

Edited to add: Recently I have noticed that the coins earned has gone down. Not sure why. 10,000 coins is earning 3.5 coins over a cpl days. Sucks.
