Right now, a viable solution is for me to try and see if I can automate rewarding miners who are mining blocks with 0 rewards. This will be a good way to distribute coins.
If I pull it off, then anyone willing to donate to the effort can send coins to an address I'll designate and you can watch the rewards being sent on the blockchain. That would work, right?
Better get to it.
I'll keep you updated. I hate writing scrapers. Not because it's hard. It's just tedious.

I could ask the ypool admin if he'd be interested in adding PMC as its missing only a sha coin. They run +51% hashrate on a few coins without taking advantage of double spending and other nasty trickery. Just no guarantee he'd be up for it.
I said I'll forfeit the faucet bounty, I think those 50k would be better off in the faucets themselves. But any tips for my efforts would be appreciated 1DrxMts1ywGM9Ufhgi1FmnX8hmoA3JajrV

Great idea! I'll get to it later.
Is there a way to send payments to multiple addresses at once? I can write a script to harvest addresses from the block explorer then send them all payment in bulk. I would make the script freely available to others so they can send payments to miners who get 0 block rewards.
This could work in the short term until the new wallet is out.
When the new wallet is released the coin still needs a lot of transactions to fill every new (and maybe older blocks?) with fees. The free giveaways and manual spreading will never create all that number of transactions in my opinion. I'm just coming up with a hotfix until the coins are changing hands enough for there to be tx fees on the majority of mined blocks. I can't fix that. That's a distribution problem. All I can do is try and code a way to reward miners who are getting 0 block rewards now. Also, some context; this thread is about 4 days old, and has 93 pages. Make of that what you will. I'm sorry if you misunderstood that. That wasn't against you or anyone else. It was just a fact for everyone to know that automatic fees are not included in the wallet yet.

I found this thread very very late. After some reading I decided to get my own wallet to work - so it is now Am I too late already for donations to help beginners like me getting started? If I can help (or even just for a kind gesture) with distributing a little bit I recieved, I would do. But, to speak frankly, at first I just would like to have a bit for myself, for taking part at this cool experiment! 12UokTU5oRGTY6CLVaAxk63o9LsJ3NiPec

Yeah, no worries, I know that's the issue at the moment. I'm seeing if I can help support the network until the new wallet is released. I hate writing quick code, but once this is done I can worry about creating a class library so this would work for other altcoins. Right now it doesn't need to be fancy. Just quick and dirty code to generate commands to send small payments to everyone who mined 0 block rewards. It's probably going to take me a few hours.

Great idea, post your solved 0 block reward IDs and your address so we can donate. I tried mining using my 8GH Jalapeno. I mined 13 blocks so far, all of them worth exactly 0. I wasn't expecting high profit, I just wanted to help the network.
13 blocks? Thats 13 PMC fee from me. Have fun Thanks! I'll keep mining. Since bitcoin difficulty grows, my miner only earns ~2$ per day mining BTC. I can switch it to PMC for a few hours every day.

Wish cryptexplorer had a more fleshed out API. It would be straight forward if I could pull data by block number, but right how I have to do it by hash, which is fine, but in terms of scraping means it will take a lot longer, and I'm not sure how to set start / end points except by scraping the entire hashes of every block then filtering the results. Edit: what am I thinking? I just need to pull the current block number from the api then do $current_block - 9249, then http://cryptexplorer.com/chain/Premine?count=$result Then I have all the hashes from block 9249, I use those to cycle through each page, getting the address and the block reward. Filter on those, then generate the console code for the debug window to send out all the payments. I bit of a pain, but it's the only way I can see to pull the wallet addresses from any given point in the blockchain.

see if http://blockchai[Suspicious link removed]emineco.in works better sheesh..... blockchain (dot) premineco (dot) in how is that even suspicious... edit: ok, my bad - i don't even see any API info on that one. nevertheless there is a second block explorer.

Right. I've sussed it. As long as I output the start and end point of the blocks I've done so far, I just use the last end point as the next start point+1 and I'll never miss a miner, and never double pay a miner. I can keep doing it until I run out of funds to award.

i manually made it to about 9280 yesterday.... If I can write this script you could do this for any altcoin on the site and award coins of any amount based on x amount reward. This will be pretty useful. Right now, a viable solution is for me to try and see if I can automate rewarding miners who are mining blocks with 0 rewards. This will be a good way to distribute coins.

Thankfully part of my job involves writing scripts like this, so I have a lot of code written already that I can re-purpose. The only thing that will take time is the regular expressions.

Thanks. I'm already using the API. I only need to use it to get the latest block on the chain. The rest I can do by scrapes and regular expressions.

I was hoping to get some Premine, but I guess I missed the cut. If anybody that got some wants to hook me up, that would be super cool!

Ok, I've got the script to grab the html data from the start and end point in the blockchain that I specify. That's the easy part. Now I need to scrape all the hashes. Will just get on with it now, or I'll be here until midnight.
