Is it risky to buy not top 100 crypto currencies?

It is not really a risky thing to do. If you observe at times, the lower coins gives more profit than even the top coins. They still have more space to grow in the market than the top coins like BTC, ETH, and so on.

Not only top 100 but I think should buy to 20 or top 10. Those coins in to 20 are good coins. You can buy now instead of new scam coins with fake ICO projects. Too many fake ICo now.  HUndreds ICO every months , it is not amazing but it is bad and very bad, The worst Cryptpcurrency year ever is now. Why some countries ban ICO. I thnink there should be independence certification of ICO. Ico that certified is legit team with legit projects. It is recomended to invest.

If you buy coins that are on top 100 then you are still at risk, you do not know which project will fail
in the future, the coins that are on 100 will not always remain on top 100.

Yes, of course investing in the marketcap's top 100 coins is safer than the ones below it. However, to be safer and further reduce the risk of loss I think it's better to invest in coins that sit in the top 20 or 10 marketcaps.

Some of the altcoins not in top 100 are those who are new born in cryptocurrencies it grows like other top 100 altcoins. Its just need to determine which altcoin is growing and need more research about their project.

Actually it's really up to the person who is buying crypto. Maybe, they're buying crypto because the whitepaper of that coin is great and he/she saw a lot of potential to that coin. Plus, it's all about luck.

Top 100 crypto sound a bit stretch. You should narrow it down to top 20 or decide which kind of coin you think will fare well in the future (minable, token, asset,...)

Investing in Crypto is risky  itself, but investing in coins out of  top 100 is even more risky, especially in the bear market
as your investment can go to near to zero. Of course there are some rising stars  out of top 100 and they will bring
higher profit but we have to find them.
