At the current rate your estimate of $500 will be blown out of the water.  Thanks for sharing your views on a variety of different topics.  Very informative.

There are reasons why experts are calling for Ethereum to reach at $ 500 mark in coming months. Ethereum is single token after bitcoin which is being used in real life and going through some various experiments based on blockchain system to make more adoptable for new financial system. Ethereum is ready to go mainstream now.

Yuuup we all need ETH to send tokens we own like GUP of Matchpool, TIME token, XAURUM, EDGELESS and countless more. I believe we also can use ETH to buy MS products right?  I think we can also consider WAVES to be the same thing with ETH.

Because banks want it be that way. They can even make it 200% of bitcoins value or much more. They don't have any problem with that. Until dollars and euros they print become entirely worthless.

Could anyone ELI5 EXPLAIN why ETH is valuable and deserve to be 50% of bitcoins value?

Short answer: Due to economical and technological reasons.

Long answer: If you are negativelly biased towards Ethereum then you are a simple minded, ignorant person. Usually those are the ones that believe in cults, religions and have no oppinion of their own. These people are not the kind of people that drive the world forward. Bitcoin is not only about one specific blockchain. Bitcoin is an idea. A technological revolution. Like the fire. Like the wheel. Like electricity. Like the internal combustion engine. Like the internet. The genious idea and endless applications that can evolve out of it cannot be limited to a single chain. Vitalik originally wanted his ideas on Bitcoin. Seeing that the specific ecosystem is not flexible enough to develop quickly enough to incorporate his ideas, he decided to make a new blockchain. A different one. A better one. In nature this is called evolution. He then proposed his whitepaper and EVERYONE was invited to the party. With as little as 1 dollar invested back in the ICO you'd have good pocket money today. The thing is there were certain "religious" blind people that think the only way to go is Bitcoin. WRONG. The blockchain will produce many more ideas like Bitcoin, Ethereum and others. Ethereum will for sure one day have 10 times the marketcap of Bitcoin. Bitcoin could still cost 100k. Who knows - maybe there will  be an even better crypto, to emerge out of nowhere and overtake both. As of today Ethereum is more secure, more decentralized, with better governance, faster, cheaper, with far more capabilities and huge potential. Don't mistake my trust in it with fanatism. I own bitcoin and bitcoin is fantastic. I own ethereum and ethereum is even better. Both can fail. However the future looks a little brighter for ethereum, considering bitcoin is in a political nightmare right now.

Cheers Wink

But why not bitcoin?

Because they can't own the Bitcoin network. Banks never pump money into something if they don't own it. People behind centralized coins with unlimited supply like ETHf and XRP can easily be bought by banks.

200 dollars comming....... Grin
i am extra happy, long live ethereum!!!

I already thought that above 130$ would not go. How I was very wrong. And now I'm afraid to buy again, so as not to get a loss. But I think that there will be 250$.

Now I am scared on shorting ethereum. Anyway I stopped shorting coins since we are in a very bullish situation right now. Crypto is still young and more investors are flocking. Even if etherum drops to top 5 it doesn't mean she will drop in market cap. This crypto race is just insane.
And the madness continues. The sinking of new investors simply does not allow the price to go down. At Polo 50k users. They server can not withstand such an influx.

This is a good throwback really and how successful it is today with the prices rising up and the use of it in the ICO projects but still I prefer Bitcoin. I just seen this thread and here I am amazed really – an alt coin who is still standing for 3 years.
