I already started to increase my Ethereum stocks easy by easy. It is clear seeing what is going on in outer world with Ethereum based projects and integration in various platforms that in the long run on leading position just Bitcoin and Ethereum will be. I will prefer to hold these two as long term investment in stead of looking at others limited scoped projects.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

What is God's name is going on with the Ethereum Mist Wallet node sync?
I mean seriously???
Stuck on block 4,219,024 and the Chain Structure is 669800+ out of 695000+ going backwards and forwards.
So so aggravating!!! Coming from Bitcoin.
How is the public supposed to sit through this kind of sync?
10GB's x of data, hours and hours of downloading, no indication it is every going to end.
I was looking into developing for Ethereum, but after this (ridiculous) the bloat is intolerable.
If ETH nodes cannot sync, this crypto is not worth $375.00.
Sync is out of control.... now Chain Structure is 826000 out of 850000 what on earth is this?
Use myetherwallet and there is no problem. I had similar problems, but found out it was becouse I had bad internet connection. And if you really want to run a full node (which is great) you can first lauch Mist/EthereumWallet from the cmd.exe (if you're on Windows) using --fast flag. But yeah if you want to run a full node, you should rather have a fiber connection to the Internet (and use Ethernet connexion to your router, not WiFi) and store the chaindata on a SSD. I've got a fiber connexion at home and a 7200 rpm HDD and I can feel that the HDD have some troubles going here and there to gather all the informations asked by the peers I'm connected with while downloading the information of the missing blocks. And it's a HDD used only to store chaindata, not my system disk. EDIT: I forgot to mention that now that Swarm is integrated in Mist (since 0.9.0), you've to sync the blockchain data and the data that is stored on your computer by Swarm (normally limited around 25 GB by default). So the first sync time should be longer from the 0.9.0 and the need for performant hardware higher.

I'll definitely take a look at it tomorrow.

I am doing the same. It seems the ETH has many applications.

After long time to study crytopcurrency, I believe only BITCOIN, ETH and RIPPLE I think they will be up more and more everyday.
I would cross ripple out. ETH and BTC are definitely the safest way and very probably most lucrative in crypto. BTC and ETH are my top 2 and Ripple is in my top 5. There's a lot of interest in Ripple over the past months too. And it rose in value again after news of a presentation given to PBoC. Of course, what will materialize, we don't know yet.

I'm thinking about my next move: On Aug 1st BitCoin Cash (BCH) hard forked from BitCoin. As of 00:22 31 Aug BCH is worth $576.58US, not a bad payday for doing nothing. This is what I'm thinking, in the next day or so, I should some of my bitcoin, buy Ethereum tokens, and wait for Ethereum to hard fork into Ethereum metropolitan/ Ethereum. After the split, I would transfer back to bitcoin, but guarantee myself some Ethereum metropolitan. This is a real problem, because BitCoin is in an upward trend, so is Ethereum. I am throwing it open to the members of Crypt0's news group! What are your ideas?

Looks like that you are in a win win situation Bitcoin is crazy these days, but Ethereum will explode in some time.

There will be a hard fork, but there will not be a split.

There will be a hard fork, but there will not be a split. Of course, there wouldn't be a split. The contentious lot has gone over to Ethereum Classic. After Metropolitan, the more different the two ETH chains will be.

Eth is really at very low compated to BTC. I can easily see ETH hitting 60 billion$ before the year ends. It's a massive project especially now that Russians are joining the mining space. Plus you have tons of ICO's coming that bring value into this. ETH can easily beat BTC.

Wont work bud. Metropolis fork isn't going to split the chain (only fork it).

Etherparty and Rootstock Announce Multichain Smart Contract Solution Smart contract technology is only native to a few different platforms as of right now. One notably absent platform from the list is the Bitcoin blockchain. The Rootstock project aims to change that by bringing its functionality to Bitcoin users. A new partnership between the company and Etherparty will result in accelerated adoption of smart contracts on the Bitcoin network. https://t.co/qBpsWZe76c
