disc is fine, over 160GB left on a Samsung Evo 850 SSD. But I checked your link to github bug tracking, and it looks like the problem is known, and should have been included in geth 1.6.2, but has been pulled because of instability.
Maybe in the next version the problem will be fixed:

Ethereum Rises to a New All-Time High, Nears $250.
The ethereum spring continues as the currency makes new highs daily recently, rising to $249 from a recent low of around $150. It is dragging everything else up too, including bitcoin which has not yet made a high after its drastic $1,000 correction around 10 days ago.
The currency is rising for many reasons, but maybe this time Putin dunit as the Kremlin is boasting Putin met Vitalik Buterin to talk about blockchains.
We don’t know what exactly was said, but we can imagine Buterin probably spoke at around 1,000 miles per hour, in Russian, while fidgeting and occasionally trying to catch some breath in a hiccup way, while Putin probably just smiled and nodded, saying something like, yes, sure, we support “the idea of establishing ties with possible Russian partners,” while actually wondering something like – erm, what did this guy just say? [Updated] Potential Issue Reported - Ethereum Chamber Wallet
The Ethereum Chamber is allegedly copying private wallet keys from users to its database.
Ethereum Chamber’s website no longer provides wallet services, but instead displays the Juicy J “Blue Bentley” rap video.
Taylor from MyEtherWallet told ETHNews:
"No one should trust a website with their private keys, ever. We have worked hard for almost two years to gain the trust of the community, and will continue to be an open-source and trustworthy site. However, we urge you to get a Ledger Nano S or TREZOR hardware wallet (both are now less than 0.5 ETH & compatible with http://MyEtherWallet.com ), or learn how to use MyEtherWallet in an offline environment (https://myetherwallet.groovehq.com/knowledge_base/topics/how-do-i-run-myetherwallet-dot-com-offline-slash-locally …).
This ensures your private keys are never on an internet-connected device. As the price rises, more and more lazy scammers will attempt to take your funds. Phishers, untrustworthy sites, malware, remote access software -- the list goes on and on. Please be cautious, aware, and take steps to secure your private keys." More

ETHf is centralized and with unlimited supply. Exactly where banks want it to move! Just another XRP.
Only ETHc is worth buying.

Ethereum Scaling Sees Progress While Fees Continue to Rise.
Late last month, Bitconnect reported that Ethereum was beginning to experience scaling issues. Previously, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin stated that bitcoin’s 5-cent fee was absurd. Yet, the average fee of Ethereum transactions surpassed the $1 mark in the past few weeks.
Developers of decentralized applications launched on top of the Ethereum protocol such as Ethlance also expressed their concerns over the increasing fees of processing smart contracts. In the Ethereum network, users are required to pay fees called gas in order to set up smart contracts. More

That is up to you, but I recommend keeping the both for a little diversification.

lol that's the age-old question, isn't it!? Which one will perform better? Which will have better returns? Which will be #1 market cap in long term? Which will have "mass" adoption?

I have the same opinion.
But i feel such a stupid that i lost my chance to make 400% jn eth from the last year, because i lost my faith and also my vision of the situation, and i did buy HTC VR to make a rent, but now, i've got no time to realise my thoughts about makind that bussines on the summer time with a tourists.
So now, I'mjust looking on it, and remembering the time about ETH with 8-12 USD cost...
I must to do it, do swallow that bitter sliver, and make that expansive deal.

anyone knows how to derive private key from parity phrase (12 words)?

Alternatively, since MEW removed the possibility to use parity, how can we follow up on bid (not new bid as explained in their note, but reveal at least from the parity account)? thx

What is notable at this time is not just high value what Ethereum has got but it is preparing to go mainstream. Russia is backing it as Bitcoin after becoming highly valuable is out of the reach of many people but Ethereum is only alternative area where they still can get whatever they want. We will watch Etehreum becoming much more worth than these current prices.

yeah, but its not too late, eth is now 230 euros , and, even if i dont think it will follow the same bitcoin chart, i think it will reach 1000 eu, so its not too late to invest some. I was the same with bitcoin, one of my colleague was trying to convince me to invest some money , it was 630 eu that time, and i just said, come on, its just shit ...

Never to late to buy ETH guys.  Just buy it for long term, and imagine what it can achieve in ten years.  Pure investment, just do not withdraw and sell in a 2x profit!
