I have found that in recent time btc phone scam has been increased a lot. Scams call people and pursue people to pay taxes and bills by btc or any altercoins. Even some asks to invest in fake coin also. Mainly the scam group target people over phone.

Has it been happened with anyone??

I have never experienced and have never heard of it, IMO, users can easily avoid phone scams because most people will be careful if they receive a call from an unknown number

well I remember when all these ICOs were gathering cryptocurrency users information in the name of KYC I said that they are just accumulating information to sell and use for these kind of scam and also advertisement. now you can see what I mean! the most obvious one is the Email spam, social media spam and now this is the newest method with calling spam/scam.

if you are already in a database like that somewhere be sure that you are also a target.

With the rising price of bitcoin and other encrypted currencies, more and more swindlers join the community. We should be highly vigilant, not only by phone fraud, but also by mail fraud, and a suspicious link may steal all your coins.

This is gutting. I believe people who would fall for the tax scams are those living in countries where tax payment via btc is allowed. Where I stay, btc is not a legal tender so it is almost impossible for anyone to get scammed using the tax ploy.

No never heard of it but it wouldnt surprise me because scammers are very
resourceful and can be very believeable.

As pursurer posted if you give out your details be sure they are stored to be
Used for "marketing" later on.

One of the first things i learned on this forum was not to trust anyone especially
if i didnt know of their track record. If I got a call from anyone promoting
Bitcoin or crypto I would play ignorant and pretend I dont know what they were
talking about. Anyway there are only my immediate family and 1 friend who
know I have Bitcoin and crypto.

Many people are still filling their personal details on scam airdrop forms. Also those who participated in several icos last year while giving out their data to these suspicious websites. This is the effect of those actions. Their details have gotten to the hands of criminals who are up and about scamming them now.

Yes, many of my friends have experienced this kind of fraud. I've warned that such apps are just scams, but they do not trust them.
No apps can give away free coins. Even though they connect the name of the famous coin, I hope you are not tempted.

I have found that in recent time btc phone scam has been increased a lot. Scams call people and pursue people to pay taxes and bills by btc or any altercoins.

And how does this work?
I imagine the conversation between the scammer and a grandma:

-One, upper-case ef, one, uppercase ei, lowercase ei, zed, five, eks, one, uppercase haitch
-Eight???
-No not eight, aitch
-You said haitch..
-No, the letter "aicth" !!! Uppercase you
-What?
-You!!
-Me? What about me?
-No, not You!
-Then who ?, I'm alone!!!
-Lady, after aitch
-No, after six, the nurse comes after six, till then I'm alone...........

And btw, the address in the example is real...1F1tAaz5x1HUXrCNLbtMDqcw6o5GNn4xqX, it's the FBI seized coins adress

I thanks it won't happening to me, and I hope it won't happening to others.
I have no idea what is that phone scams because this is my first heard. But this is one thing for sure, if your phone is broken don't fix it. Because once you've configured it and connected to their computer, it is sure to copy all your data.

I have not experienced it, because in my country bitcoin is still banned.

I think the incident only happens in some countries that have legalized crypto as a transaction tool, and in countries that have very high bitcoin growth.

Nobody can cheat us unless we are ready for that.  Our greed to get money without efforts makes of prey of killers.  If someone offers something free just beware of him just think why one will pay something to you just for free.
If someone asks some personal data over telephone; never disclose him anything.  I have seen cheaters; calling the customers of Banks telling them that your ATM card will get blocked and you will not be able to use it anymore.  The customer if discloses the numbers written on the card and password then definitely his account balance is looted in minutes; even without password they do online shopping and pay bill using the card of the prey.
So never disclose on phone; just ask them to send mail from company's registered mail if they have some issue.

Sounds ludicrous to me.

I really can't imagine some Indian scammer reading 1A1zP1eP5QGefi2DMPTfTL5SLmv7DivfNa out loud to some innocent granny and her successfully noting it and sending it from her encrypted cold storage.

This is so rare. Most of the people won't just send you money specially if you don't have a legitimate company that they can call to. I wonder what kind of people will fall for this scam. I've never heard a news about this kind of scheme. Hope those scammers will be caught and be locked up forever for they are taking advantage of the weaknesses of other people and destroying the name of crypto as well.

well I remember when all these ICOs were gathering cryptocurrency users information in the name of KYC I said that they are just accumulating information to sell and use for these kind of scam and also advertisement. now you can see what I mean! the most obvious one is the Email spam, social media spam and now this is the newest method with calling spam/scam.

if you are already in a database like that somewhere be sure that you are also a target.

I agree with you on this. That is why I'd rather not join any bounty campaign that needs KYC. Aside from the fact that it invades my privacy, I can't let them use my information to illegal activities or to spam me with stuffs through email or even sell my info to some company that are outsourcing their product and services.
