There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

really cool site, perhaps you should change your OP post a bit, center everything and use the "code" button for a conf file example and make it a bit clearer

hope this coin will get more attention now  Wink

I'm interested but why call it MINI coin?

Syscoin has the best of Bitcoin and Ethereum in one place, it's merge mined with Bitcoin so it is plugged into Bitcoin's ecosystem and takes full advantage of it's POW while rewarding Bitcoin miners with Syscoin

Hi, I am a complete noob, but I just started mining this coin in a pool and I have just started the wallet on my windows PC.
I was wondering what I should set as the "rpcuser" and "rpcpassword" in the minicoin.conf file and is the .conf file necessary?
Is this where I choose an username and password which I will use later or do I need to set something up first?

btw. the wallet already synced while I was writing this post.

I simply went to help -> debug window -> console and and typed "setgenerate true" and off to the races...  You can check if its mining by starting the task manager and looking at CPU usage (100%).  Difficulty is now 6279 so it might take a while to find a block...

I was already mining on a different machine (linux with ./minerd) and I am getting accepted shares in my pool, I was just wondering what the minicoin.conf file is for.
I thought it was for syncing the wallet faster by adding more nodes, but I don't know what the "rpcuser" and "rpcpassword" lines are for (RonPaulCoin?)

Thanks for your reply though.
