I just found this coin and the concept behind it is really interesting. But can someone explain how exactly human mining by playing a game works and how does it fit in with normal mining? For example, how do you prevent cheating? How does the game maintain state? Is this being done directly on the block chain? I'm mainly trying to understand how this gaming idea works under the hood and how it fits in with p2p cryptocurrency.

Installed the wallet, purchased some coins, downloaded all the blocks (was loooong). Now I want to play, but when I am hitting "New" and entering player's name, I see the following: "Error: CheckTransaction failed for transaction created by nameFirstUpdateCreateTx"
What is the problem?
looking at a previous post, seems something to do with your wallet, did you force terminate client at any time? as a test, just rename your wallet so it creates a new one, then send enough to create a new character and see if it works also you can try re-opening the client with -rescan It crashed few times because of insufficient disk space, I did not expected so large chain))) Just tried to create new wallet.dat, sent few coins there and tried to create a player again. This time I got a question about adding a fee, but right after it I got the same error

state is in the blockchain . You can't cheat by construction of the blockchain that includes all the pathways from your avatar to the looted coins. All peers know where are the coins on the map, all peers where are everyone, When orindary miner (machine miner ) mine a coin part of the reward goes as coins available in the game. drawback for the state storage:incredibly slow and big datachain

Hardware Miners Mine like normal - except they can mine with either scrypt or sha256 miners, both targeting 2minute blocks (so average 1 minute blocks).. also both algos are merged mineable. If a miner finds a block he will receive 1 HUC + fees/taxes. Humans harvest/walk over coins on the map to collect them. They then bring the coins back to their spawn area to cash the coins in, they will then appear in the wallet just like any other crypto. 9 coins per block are spawned on the map (actually 8.75, 0.25 will be given to whomever has the crown of fortune). You can't cheat - yes it's "in the block chain"... all actions and history are recorded. you can also see the mapexplorer here www.huntercoin.infoYou can read the wiki here for more information http://wiki.chronokings.com/index.php?title=Main_PageInstalled the wallet, purchased some coins, downloaded all the blocks (was loooong). This time I got a question about adding a fee, but right after it I got the same error if you ran out of space and tried to carry on.. possibly somethig else is corrupted, maybe some of the dat files.. only thing i can suggest is redonwloading chain making sure you have enough space.. also not having much space will be even more painful downloading the chain (and playing) as you will probably have severe fragmentation (using windows?) How much will the price continue to drop ? now is very low. if you think the price is very low then buy... of course everyone who has coins wants the price to be higher (and i think it should be), but atm, it's not the most important thing. What is important is making this massively innovative project work flawlessly, then we can think about it's value

i'm near to have a testable readonly client, here last pics where i added the settings screens and introduced full screen mode https://i.imgur.com/8cjOgFK.jpghere it's connection string, i'll go in details when i'll release (tech ppl should understand by this screen) https://i.imgur.com/KRj6DI1.jpgresolution settings, while u are in windowed you can size as u wish just resizing like every windowed program if you go fullscreen, you have to choose one of that prezised settings (i can add other if needed) last pic (that i link as external so don't crash lower res forum users) is an hd fullscreen mode pic, so much space to play.... https://i.imgur.com/NAVS4Sj.jpg <-click to see i want this wallet!

This coin has a major problem (Long and slow blockchain). Any ideas on how to fix that? Future players will have to download the blockchain for a week or more. An idea would be to periodically upload the blockchain to a secure place. That would make it less decentralized, but people wouldn't want to spend a week just to play.

Please do something about the game freezes. For some reason this game is impossible for my computer to run. I first tried this on my old emachines computer, then on my laptop, I will post the specs for both if required. I cannot play though, because the game loads, yes, and my wallets were completely synced, but the lag is too much for my pc to process the movements, so what I'm saying is there is a movement every what, 15 minuntes? Then it freezes for another 15 minutes.
there is a problem with freezes.. but I can assure you that on 3 clients (and 2 vmwares running simultaneously) the freezes/pauses sometimes (rarely) when a block comes in lasts no more than 15-20 seconds (at a maximum, normally just 5 seconds) on my machine. So am not sure why yours freezes for 15 minutes.. i would guess maybe your PC is slow. but you will need to be patient, posting the same thing 5 times won't make us get it fixed faster. The C++ coder who helped me to create Huntercoin passed away 1 week ago, you need to wait for other people to go through the code to fix the problem. If the game is not playable for you, i suggest you give huntercoin a miss if it's causing frustration. This is a world first on many levels... expect small bugs Hey Snailbrain - I know things are in a state of flux, and I'm very sorry for the circumstances, but care to give the investors an update on the state of finding a new developer or development team? I honestly think this is a great and innovative coin but was hoping to just get a few tangible details?

Alternative client maybe? Something lite, like KryptoKit for bitcoins for example http://www.coindesk.com/ver-buterin-join-bitcoin-browser-wallet-kryptokit/

I honestly think this is a great and innovative coin but was hoping to just get a few tangible details? Sure, There are multiple devs looking into the code atm: HunterMinerCrafter, seems to have rectified the daemon crash + found some other issues which they are working on. They seem highly skilled and "understand" the code. And also may be interested in taking on the project (dev role). I am currently in discussions with someone who is looking into being lead dev, he has a wide range of skills, and the ability to setup the centralized server plan i have (to play on any device and in browser, so no need to download chain etc).. also specializes in android development. There are numerous other devs working on other things, like UI improvements and other stuff like - Mithrilman's alternative client (which won't have slow down issues [but I will get them fixed in the qt also]) although will be windows only (although could work on xbox + windows7 phone) (can run in wine or vm for linux/mac), khal (lead nmc dev) working on block explorer and supporting generally. The people behind huntercoin.info, huntercointalk.com and more.. of which have setup on their own accord. Domob (nmc dev) is helping out also (but too busy to take on the project completely atm), currently he is re-implementing Namecoin code on Libcoin. This should update and speed up the Namecoin client by orders of magnitude, he will then attempt to repeat with Huntercoin--- (Namecoin has the same slow syncing issue, and same pauses sometimes when a block comes in.. the problem with slowdown (sometimes) i'm pretty sure is not huntercoin specific). He is also helping in a general way --- he has fixed the expanding names, so now you can resize the map window (to have more teams)... I'm currently testing atm before i commit the pull request. Manicminer pool are also assisting, and he is very knowledgeable of the code --- note: i have spent almost 1 year on this project, and a lot (for me) of ££$$.. I am not going to just hand over the keys to the project to anyone in such a short time (1 week). I am committed entirely to the project, so be patient.. note: Donations will help - I have received approx 170 HUCs so far (and 50NMC).. but spent $£, and many many hours (and took the last 3 weeks off work) ... and, i've given out 1500 HUCs from my own coins I got in the game to people helping out

testing MithrilMans windows client...
no tx processes are implemented yet (creating players/moving etc), but I can say that it is amazing so far..
for none computer literate users, this is going to be "very good".. it's very smooth/fast (and simple to use/configure)
