Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

Stand-up job, demonmaestro.  I kind of wished I had waited for the 5 chip.  Going to need to hash some more first.

There are 178 left
Once you get over 100 things start to get a little tricky. Like boot ups and reboots. You have to unplug all the hubs and then plug in one at a time. the miners can still be connected to the hubs.

Payment sent for my batch 1 order.

I would love some of these but right now they are too overpriced (I know not by you, by the distributor/manufacturer).  Just can't justify 5 months of uninterrupted hashing to break even... Sad

What are you mining that will take 5 months?

At current rates mining DOGE this will break even in 95 days.  Check it out on CoinWarz.

Everybody loves DOGE Smiley But reality is, it will come in balance sooner rather than later.

I completely agree, but there's always something near as profitable as DOGE currently is.

I was using http://dustcoin.com

But when I posted that, doge was down to 135 satoshi and coinbase for BTC was at $804.  So at current difficulty 700kh/s gets you ~5600 doge ... 5600 * 0.00000135 * 804 = approx $6/day.  Initial investment of $850/$6 = 142 days to break even.

It looks like DOGE has recovered a little bit now, though so that projection was a bit high.

sounds better than the antminers, I had to unplug each one and back on a reboot or glitch....49+ usbs one by one, 49 on the hub and others on smaller hubs...pain

HEY, ask your supplier to drop the price so that you could sell for $65! Cheesy They will start flying like hot pancakes.

On the other note, there is too little information on these. Also 5-chip look interesting but OMG initial investment. Once these chips prove to be stable, the orders will speed up (and prices hopefully come down, instead of climbing like mad on ATI cards).

I am sure they would sell better.

These are still majorly expensive compared to ATI cards.

http://bitcoinwisdom.com/litecoin/calculator shows that given same power consumption a 280x ($450 for 700 KHS) ROIs in 3 months as opposed to dual miners ($850 for 700KHS), which ROIs in 6 months.

Long term DMs obviously win with break-even as compared to 280x at about 575 days.

Also I can put reasonably easy 4x 280x in a single computer for 2,800 KHS with two 800W PSUs ($220) . I can double that hashing with 2,800/70=40 sticks and 4 USB hubs at $30 each and NO additional PSUs.

If only they would come down in price a bit Sad

OK, I persuaded myself with this writing to order 5 Smiley Please put me in the queue for Batch 1 if the late payers don't pay. Otherwise put in Batch 2. If you can get price down to $60-ish I will buy WAY more.

Although you are missing the main point..

Almost no heat/Noise/power consumption.
yea they are lacking in the hashing power but it would be nice to get rid of the noisy power hungry rigs...

What if they fail after 10 days ? With Graphics cards atleast u can RMA them buy extra warranty or even sell them later!! BUT I am still thinking hope they were half the price  lol
Obviously the formfactor/heat/electricity is considerable

Would you be able to send in a padded envelope to Canada, I had no problems with USPS sending my Antminer U1s that way.

If not I could only order if they would come in by Monday since after that I would have to wait another few weeks to start mining

Imagine a world where...gpus are used as intended...power bills are drastically reduced...you don't worry about whether or not your fire extinguisher will be enough....whoa.

im looking forward to it in that regard Smiley
