To not lose your investment you need to learn and know the world of crypto. It is necessary to read a lot of articles, jackpots, books, then to make an analysis of the received information on which basis to make investments. Otherwise, you can lose everything.

May be you can see the news like that to be a reason to minimize your risk in investing in crypto. News are not always true, it depends on you who have invested in many times or as a newbie in cryptocurrency. I will never leave crypto, because it has changed my life eventhough not like what i want. At least crypto make it better than my life before.

A news from ABS-CBN, a Filipino Media and Entertainment Group.

MANILA - An investor who saw a 39,000-percent increase in his bitcoin investment warned on Monday that many cryptocurrency investment schemes right now are scams.

Emerson Fonseca, Philippine head of NEM Foundation, told ANC's Market Edge that since he started trading bitcoin 2 years ago, a lot of scams have cropped up because people don't understand cryptocurrencies.

What are your opinions?

when I want to invest in an ico project the first thing I learn is the project when the project has convinced me then the second step is to see the team composition of the project if the two things are all good then I take steps to join the ico.

Right. With patience and hardwork, you will be able to widen your knowledge on cryptocurrency and blockchain technology through further studies and observations. It will really help you to avoid scams and even big losses if you deeply understand all about cryptocurrency. And having the fact that bitcoin is a very risky investment, then you should be cautious at all times.

I have been here for long time so I find that there are a lot of people that were trying to scam people and giving misconceptions about cryptocurrencies and blockchain, so you should look for more information in detail about a certain cryptocurrency.

Cryptocurrency is a high risk/high reward investment. You have to be prepared to accept the risk.So don’t go all in on an investment. After a long time you are informed you can make your decision more wisely.

When people talk about wanting to get into cryptocurrency but feeling like they’re, “too late”. Bitcoin does this thing call “correcting” every few months where it tends to drop in price drastically to prepare for the next leg up  -  buy in during any of these dips and you’ll be fine if you prepared.

Invest to old cryptocurrencies like NEO, ETC, LTC and so on.. and you cant lost money or be scammed by scam. Easy.

Most people today are looking for an easy and quick investment without checking the source first. If we want to invest in the world of crypto, then we need to understand the types of crypto, and make sure before we invest, that it really is not a scam.

Due to how lucrative crypto can be, a lot of scammers use that avenue to fraud people especially the ones who do not fully understand cryptocurrencies. Most of the scam projects or ICOs are easily detected if only you take your time to assess and analyze the project or ICO. Before you make up your mind to invest, check study the project, its developers, its social media, website and whitepaper for consistency in information they provide.

PRICE of bitcoin before December 2017 is really Brilliant price that's many company making their own business override to Bitcoin then they will convince many people investor to invest their business in exchange of double or triple their money after several months, of course many investor have decide to give a volume of money for investment but after DECEMBER 2017 price of bitcoin is falling down until it will going to the lower level of price until now. of course no profit generated from it and the said company did not apologized and suddenly it will disappear because of that circumstances. that is the story of some people apprehended by authorities because they defrauding of so many investor. BUT BITCOIN is not SCAM I admit that.

That is true. If you do not know what you are investing, you will probably end up losing. Every investment has risks. Especially in cryptocurrency which is very volatile, if you do not choose the right crypto to invest in, you will lose your money. So before you invest have some background check on that crypto.

I don't understand a heck what your post is about, especially the part below:

MANILA - An investor who saw a 39,000-percent increase in his bitcoin investment warned on Monday that many cryptocurrency investment schemes right now are scams.
Why would the investor be scared because he got an overwhelming profit on his investment? Do you have an idea of what Facebook rages in daily as profit?

Anyway, in regards to the question you raised in the title: What you need to know before investing in crypto. I should think that would be that anyone investing in crypto MUST have that mindset that crypto is a RISKY business to indulge. Simply put.
