I noticed this phenomenon. Often someone buys up all the proposed tokens with a small amount of trading (for example, look at SMT on hitbtc this night), and after a few days these tokens go up in price very much. Is it worth buying such a token?
If you see that the coin has potential to rise to something bigger, then you can buy it and keep. But if you’re buying cheap coins, you have to be careful about it cause most of these coins you see these days are just shit coins which will end up as scam or failure and you will just lose your money like that. Sometimes it’s even best to invest in expensive coins like ETH and BCH, cause those ones you’re already sure about them and they will last for long.

I think it will be very terrible because usually tokens that have low volume and do not get support from the founder of the token will make you lose because surely the token will be deleted from the exchange place because the reason is that the volume is too small and does not provide profit, preferably You can avoid that method for the integrity of the assets you have.

It is very risky to buy such tokens. Because they are usually used for a pump. You can buy such a token and sell it with 300 percent profit, but in 99,9 percent of situations, you will buy this token, and thats it. There will be no more buyers and you will stuck in this coin.
Lol, you’re saying the truth, most of these cheap coins are used for a pump and a lot of people are losing their money in them. You just buy it and before you know it they pump and dump it immediately and when you least expected it, then you will lose your money it or maybe if you’re lucky you will be able to withdraw with a little amount. So they are not worth it cause there are risks involved.

Depends with that coin. If every day there is have trading 24h will definitely be valuable and also the price of the coin follow bitcoin price. If you want to buy altcoin maybe you should look at the price chart development every month from the coin so that in the future you can get a profit.

in my opinion it's still worth it, just because having a low volume doesn't mean that the token is bad. all the big altcoins today used to have low trading volumes. but over time the trading volume continues to increase. so it doesn't hurt to buy an altcoin that has a small volume.

of course you have to research it first and try to discuss on the telegram network. This is important because to reduce each risk you must be wiser in any speculation, especially for long investments.

I stopped to make buying choices based on pure token metrics. This is simply not a clever way to invest.

Let's say a project has 'only' 100m tokens, of which 50m are in circulating supply and the rest locked for a year.

This token is bought for let's say $0,20 cts during ICO, and dropped to $0,010 on a DEX soon after (this happened to many projects, good or bad ones).

You do some research. Product not finished but promising. Team is ok, but no gems. Advisors seem ok but tbh, you never heard of them.

Yes. Based on this you could take the gamble right? If it's $$$ you can easily miss, why not.

This scenario could however play out. You buy your big bag (let's say 100k tokens) and the price rises (because of your own buys) to $0,015.

Will it go up only from now onwards?

NO. This is based on a real project and the current price is $0,005.....for 3 months....

So. Only IF you can miss the $$$ and only IF you have a lot of patience it is worth the while...but low-volume tokens do not necessarily take off any time soon....

for me it's still reasonable, however, you need to make sure that the company still works, and continues to develop what they build. so, no matter the coin has a low volume or not, but when they do the project well, one day it will become a coin that has a large volume.

I think it's extremely risky, especially now. If you want to buy something now, it is better to choose from the top 10-20 list of coinmarketcap

I think it's not worth it because it's a sign that the project is poor and dying it's better to buy in high volume tokens with a potential to give you a huge profit.

It was very profitable, but a year ago. Now almost low market cap coin has low volume and it is hard to predict which one will boom. Because there are no booms like a year before - 1000% in one day and so on.

Yeah it's generally good buying low volume  coins. They generally tend to go higher in prices than the ones with idiotic supplies. Billions and billions of tokens without proper project idea. Even the ones with low volume , one has to be careful before buying into them because it doesn't guarantee that the project will succeed .

If you are not  a savvy trader never do it, you will likely end up a badholder, volume is very key even more than the price, you can see a price of a tokens at $1 and if there is not volume to support the price selling 1000 tokens could crash the price to $0.5, this is the problem Bitmain is having with his BCash the company is holding, because they can not sell without moving the market down. That is why Bitcoin and Etereum still lead the pace

Some low-cap tokens are really GEM. You have to follow them hard and wait for the best time to jump in.
If they are developing some big things there is a good opportunity for fast x10.

While the opportunity to obtain fast profits will always be there, your investment strategy should not rely on getting those kind of profits because if it does it is very likely that you are going to run out of money before you are able to get the profits that you are looking for, this is especially true if you are the kind of person that likes to invest a huge amount of its portfolio on each coin, so if you are going to invest in low cap tokens then you need to make sure that you only invest a very small amount of money.

I agree completely with BartS. Investing in low-volume coins or tokens is going to be at best a long shot. If you're not willing to tie the funds up for several years, there's not much point in investing in low-volume coins. Or honestly, small-cap coins, for that matter.

Why not? If the coin has a low trading volume on the exchange, but has great prospects, then it is necessary to invest in it.

It is totally worth it because it might moon someday and you can have a good profit on it. But be careful when selecting to it, because it might be a dead coin causing to turn your capital to bubble.

Low volume tokens are usually used for pumps. People are creating groups in Telegram and promising x2 within a few days. Admins are buys the pumped coin at the morning and the pump happens in the evening and all people who bought in the evening, have lost their money. Stay away from such coins.

I think volume is not the principle criteria to judge upon when buying alts because most of the exchange use bots so you can have a wrong idea about it if you don't look and research about the project you want to engage in. When I buy tokens, I really don't look too much in this detail instead I look at the goals and idea behind it, if it's unique and gives a new integration of cryptocurrencies and blockchain, not just a copy, also chat with the core team is very informative it helps you know if they are serious, sold and trustworthy.
