Can someone please inform me what this fork is all about?

failmath ? why is the diff still this high ?

Because it's only been one block since the fork, and it's only meant to move a maximum of 12% per block? It's at 97 difficulty now, down from 108 last block, and will continue to adjust after every block.

It'll take a while to correct down to a more reasonable level.

When is the time for the fork?

The fork has already taken place, around an hour or so ago.

Coinwarz showing CAT difficulty at 108 is due to old blockchain i suppose, right?

Are all of the exchanges on the new chain?
Also is coinium the only pool on the new chain? as they have 25M/hash and the NET hash rate is only 0.02G/hash?
Coinium, Team Catcoin, geekhash, and Coinex are on the correct code - and it looks like they're the biggest chunk of the network.

No sign of unintended forks - a very smooth transition!

Nullu is back in the Cat game.  Smiley

What's a good exchange to buy? Coinedup is too small. I need 500 Cat. Got various altcoins. Even Nyancoin, if anyone wants to trade for those. It would be easier than me selling them for BTC as I'm not on freshmarket.co, but you can work out the value of NyanCoin there. I have 7500 to trade for Catcoins.

Nice wellcome to the new thread everyone! Wink

Just a minor point, I'm not so sure about the new logo, "ç" is pronounced "s" in many languages such as my own which is french so that new logo can be read as "satsoin" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%87, just change the form a little bit to make a little different than C-Cedilla

this seems a valid point - could make the coin tough sell in France, Portugal, Brazil, Catalonia, Turkey (all potentially big markets! plus perhaps Spain, Mexico Spanish-speaking US, and all of Latin America by implications) or to folks speaking these languages. Also would be potentially easy for later foes to attack CAT...

@nebajoth & devs: worth brainstorming if somehow possible to address that?
@kuroman: if this changed "a little", then wouldn't be unicode symbol typable on any keyboard?

All valid concerns. but we are adopting it. People are adaptable and it is obvious we are using it as a "C" and will become further obvious we are adapting it to a currency symbol.
If at some future time we feel it has lead to confusion we will look into changing this. But as for now we will test the waters.

I like the new logo,. Makes Catcoin look slick. Valuable. If all goes well with new fork the Cat is back.

Everyone not running Windows - please check your catcoin.conf file.

We've had reports that some linux users don't have nodes in their catcoin.conf or don't have a file at all.  Please create a regular text file and insert the following:

Code:
rpcuser=username
rpcpassword=userpassword
server=1
daemon=1
testnet=0
listen=1
addnode=eu.coinium.org:9933
addnode=us.coinium.org:9933
addnode=teamcatcoin.com:9933
addnode=108.54.144.63:9933
addnode=209.162.15.139:9933
addnode=94.134.24.71:9933
addnode=188.230.218.60:9933
addnode=123.211.181.88:9933
addnode=172.245.21.138:9933
addnode=50.162.94.94:9933
rpcport=7000
rpcallowip=192.168.*.*

Folks that don't have at least teamcatcoin.com and coinium.org in their catcoin.conf are seeing difficulty and blockchain information from nodes that aren't yet updated (old data).  This will help us all stay on the same chain.

Thanks in advance!
Andy
