Because we all know if bitcoin is some good a way for us to get more and earn money.
So that is true if bitcoin become an asset.

But some people call bitcoin as a property. they have their own reasons or that they have invested bitcoin with their own assets such as selling gold, cars (material). I think bitcoin can not be considered an asset, bitcoin is a means of payment, not an object. The bitcoin value is also unstable, you might be able to store bitcoins that are currently worth hundreds of dollars but when everyone holds bitcoin, its value will go down and tend to be stable.
Assets are things that increase in value every year and I do not think bitcoin. Sometimes the value of bitcoin falls, sometimes the jump value.

 I read about this news that in south korea bitcoin is legally become recognizeable as asset. I do think bitcoin is a currency and not an asset. I dont know whether this is good news or not for cryptocurrency. One thing i believe with legalization from goverment i do think more investors will come to invest in bitcoin, but i think if bitcoin become an asset its not as it suppose to because i believe bitcoin should be a currency which is currency is for transaction and asset is not for transaction.

In my country central bank recently issued public statement that bitcoin is not currency or financial asset.
Hopefully, they will change their opinion and follow example from S. Korea.

yes I agree with you, that bitcoin is arguably an asset, because some people buy btc from their possessions and invest it for the long term, and will be taken whenever needed.

I also think that most people consider/use/prefer it as an asset and not as a currency. Because of its volatility where it has potential to rise in the future, more people are buying and believing, taking risks that anytime it will be their way to earn bigger amoun of money/profit. It doesn't matter how the government decides to classify it; it doesn't matter how the courts decide to treat it. What matters is how users treat Bitcoin. Right now, most of them are holding it and treating it as a store of value. They may not be using it on a transactional basis which would support its classification as a currency.
