such a speedy reply from embicoin! but I edited my last post.
Also  I visited the suggested exchange cryptorush and see this red message:
Slow Deposits/Withdraws
Due to the volume of AUR and BTC, we're having an issue with deposits and withdraws running much slower than they normally do, due to lag between our blockchain. The good news is everything is safe, just a lot slower. Sorry for the inconvenience this causes to everyone affected.
//

Does anyone know how many confirmations from blockchain is needed for deposited BTC to be credited into your account balance and what they mean exactly by deposits and withdrawal are running much slower than normal?   You see I don't want to waste time waiting like 6 or more hours when it could be 1 hour elsewhere.

I can highly recommend http://auroracoin.miners-pool.eu/

Mining there for a week. Super stable, 0 downtime, 0 rejects.

Need some more megahashes though. Come mine here!

http://www.maxkeiser.com/2014/03/auroracoin-patriotic-cryptocurrency-is-almost-worth-1-billion/

Getting some coverage so it should end up on his tv show and that will push it to the masses more.

Is this a mistake?

Quote
It is estimated that at the time of launch, an amount of 21 million AUR will be made available to the Icelandic population.

I thought the amount premined was 10.5 million?

So you're telling me all I need to do to make a ton of money is:

  • Create a clone coin.
  • Set it to low reward/high difficulty.
  • Premine the majority of it and keep those coins out of circulation (and make up a good reason for premining so many to avoid negativity).
  • Get the coin onto an exchange/CoinMarketCap.
  • Let people gawk over the value (due to the fact there are so many coins in existence but not in circulation, therefor locking in that higher price due to the inability for the public to dump it).
  • Coin price will skyrocket due to the stable high price and huge market cap (due to all the premined coins).

Who knew it was so easy? I'd be willing to bet we'll see a few more coins do this before people catch on. Maybe I should get into coin development...

Yes, I do believe exactly that happened here. There is no guarantee it will happen every time though.

My impression of the people buying into the 100,000 circulating Auroracoins before the market is flooded with 10,500,000 Auroracoins: "derp derp derpity derp derp derp"

My opinion on people buying in; GREAT job. We all should do that, to get aurora mainstream, to get as much support as possible for this FANTASTIC idea.

In 2008 Iceland experienced the following:
-All 3 national banks failed
-Their currency halved in value

I think that people are hoping that Auroracoin will be the first case of a country with currency problems adopting a cryto-currency over its fiat currency.

If it works it will pave the way for other countries with currency problems to do the same thing.

Auroracoin may do for a country what Bitcoin did for the world and I think people just want to be part of it.

If you want a coin that has serious potential...  MazaCoin...   Official coin of a sovereign Indian nation.

Think about it,  in the U.S. , Indian reservations have their own sovereignty like other nations.  In short,  this a coin that is official!

It's not some wanna be gimmick like Auroracoin... anybody can make the claim... let's airdrop to X country.

Alltough I support Mazacoin as well, it doen's have the strong potential to change the cryptocurrency landscape like Auroracoin does. First of all, the coin isn't officially supported by their gov (tribe), it's just not refused by them. Next, they are not as widely adopted into new technology as Icelanders are. Most people in this tribe don't even have a cellphone. So, adoption of Maza will be far more difficult than AUR.

A fool will just look at the finger, even if it points to paradise!

I can't believe people are still buying at this price. Sure the ideato linka currency directly to a country is great buy nonetheless it's INSANE to buy coins at this price when the current amountof coins in circulation is only 1/100th of the amount that will be in circulation on 25 march, that is if the airdrop actually does happen and the dev doesn't just make a quick couple of millions in a few sec by dumping it himself.

Everyone here thinks they're going to make some quick money of this by buying in now since it's supposed to surpass BTC or something but the truth is, in a few weeks you'll all just be bagholders that are crying because they got 'scammed'.

Sure, if you've been mining this since the start you'll make some nice bucks of it but anyone buying in right now is out of their mind.

its a catch 22 situation.. no adoption until the infrastructure is in place and no infrastructure until its adopted... :/

And this my friends, is why we, as a community, need to take the opportunity now to act upon it's success! While most of you are complaining about the lack of things, some of us are doing what needs to be done:

http://forum.auroracoin.org/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=192

Everybody in the crypto landscape is enthusiastic about how it takes control from the gov and banks and gives it back to the people. But somehow most of you (the people) are just sitting there, taking NO CONTROL AT ALL! If you don't want to participate, fine! Just go back to fiat and leave Crypto for what it is!

A fool will just look at the finger, even if it points to paradise!

when the air drop is activated this will drop like a stone, what is stopping the dev from selling the coins himself, were nearing $1billion. $500m not bad for a month work. the biggest heist was $250m on mtgox this could set a new record

who or what exactly is stopping the dev  from actually give these coins out to the people? thats right nothing, he would have to be that rare one in a million type of person that would give his own kidney to a complete stranger. iam just not seeing it, until i see or hear those coins have been delivered this is nothing but a major Pump on a whole new scale.

I hope Dev limits coin issuance at Airdrop to 30,000 coins per day.

nobody actually knows what will happen on airdrop but one thing is certain.
The price will raise every day we are closer to the airdrop media are going to get hysteric about this.

The amount of coverage world wide will be huge and this will impact the price so until the airdrop you're going to see lot of trolls bitching on this forum.

So much for the community bitching and crying over the smallest premine, and yet jump onboard a 50% premined coin. where is people's logic gone to.... wait thats right in thier wallets. makes the rich more rich.
