Auroracoin is doing awesome in my opinion.  The price has now stabilized, it has great potential to increase in value and mining has been great since the fixes about a month ago.  It has an active developer who conducted a transparent distribution and there's a good community of people here.

My pool has a strong base of miners, many of who have been here almost from the start - http://aur.scrypthp.com

Obviously it would be nice if the price was higher but it's stable at a price point that is viable for market use.  If there continues to be market adoption in Iceland and elsewhere, the value will naturally increase.

Whats your motivation to spend that much time in this thread?
You also listen to music and eat stuff you dont like?

I don't eat it but i give advice to people that the food stinks or in this case it's poisonous.
Just like being in this thread makes me no Aur investor or bagholder.

I was right about the drop in price back then and I advise people not to buy since the 10$.
I bet that the guys buying at 90$ have an indigestion , just like the ones that didn't listen to my food advice.

If you told people to not buy since 10USD you gave them pretty bad advise since AUR went to 90 and you could have made 900% short term profit.

Thats that.

Auroracoin is in excellent shape. The total amount of coins was multiplied by 10x and still aur holds value around 1USD.

Niothor I dont know what you are advocating , but same as 99% of the world you are badly informed person.

Do you know how much infrastructure has been built around AUR? Do you know aurmarket.is, aurcoin.is. Do you know that aur has over 30+ real stone shops who accepts auroracoin in Iceland?

Do you get that is more than any city has related to bitcoin /per person? And furthermore like 300% more?

Do you all get this?

That's what he's afraid of... Because more than a few people just have plenty of BTC and see Auroracoin as a threat to their imaginary future where everyone uses Bitcoin making them mega-rich  Roll Eyes

We are pleased to announce that local newspapers have started publishing news articles about Muniti, a cryptocurrency based on the X11 algo. This is the first one, by di-ve which is managed by the main TV station in Malta (TVM). Auroracoin received an honourable mention in this article:

I think Niothor get's it very well Bohemian, so far he has been critical, but never irrationally negative. And it's true that the coin had a way to high exchange rate when it hit $ 90, but that only lasted one hour. For short term speculants this might have been a nasty meal, but that is not the way I see it. Apart from the fact I traded well on this, I also back the coin's initiative long term for the opportunity it grants.

I don't care if it stays around $1 for a long time, it will in the end become clear to the greater public that this coin hold enormous value in terms of acceptance and adoption. This is what will make Auroracoin one of the most successful coins in the history of Crypto. Eventually it will serve long term bag holders well!

A fool will just look at the finger, even if it points to paradise!

Oh LTEX I just love this....
The people having a fee AUR are mad at me and calling me troll and others while you , in your position , are seeing what's really behind my posts.

Really , we should have met on a different project , and maybe , before coins started to be 95% trade and 5% what is really important.

Back to the topic :

Does anyone have some statistics about nr of transactions per day?

Answering my own question:
http://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/transactions-aur.html

I can't see any real increase in transactions after the airdrop.
And remember that out of those 800 , 200 are block rewards.

I saw how countries 100 times bigger than Iceland with 150 times more production than Iceland attached their official coin to be equal to US dollar. (1:1).
This type of link can't be sustained for too much time. The countries that adopted this "safe dollar" model, end in a catastrophic failure, again and again and again.

If you continue talking about AUR around $1, it will have a value of $0.1 or less by the beginning of second drop. People doesn't want to learn from previous experiences.

I would hope that at least some people here buying cryptos are doing so because it is a hedge against a collapse in the US dollar much like gold. Some infrastructure for Auroracoin is all it would take for it to be one of the better cryptos in this situation.

EDIT: Anyway, has anyone tried the Android wallet at least?? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.schildbach.wallet_aur

Guys, I have a question.

A lot of people are saying that coin kite is responsible for helping boost bc price... I'm unsure of what the site does in it's entirety other than help process payments with a select few currencies. It's understandable if its HELPED, but bc has rocketed, are people trying to say that coinkite is solely responsible for such a shift in price? I know they are also open to AUR as one of the currencies they want to integrate but require the community support in order to do so, and I believe that what that means is effectively donation support. I checked the public wallet address they are asking for donations in to and so far there is maybe 150 or so. Any ideas or thoughts on coin kite from anyone (who isnt involved with it) and any information from anyone who held BC as to whether coinkite was responsible for helping the price rise and why?

I don't think it has anything to do with BC's price personally (I think if that coin goes for a week without a big pump it'll be dropped like a rock). Anyway if you look at Mintcoin's thread right now, you'll see the community has said thanks but no thanks to coinkite's offer of adding Mintcoin so long as they are paid 25 BTC... Also I think Moolah can set up merchant services with Auroracoin and I don't think they ever asked the community for money

well, they're doing it for bitcoin for free. Otherwise they wouldn't have a product. Or did I misunderstand?

btw, their ceo (I guess) Rodolfo Novak is in a pretty cool documentary about bitcoin in french.

I don't think CoinKite had much to do with it.  Moolah.io has supported Auroracoin from before the launch with similar products (although not the POS machine).

I wonder how those who bought aur for 0,1btc feel right now.. I don't know why, but I'll buy some aur even though it may be jumping on a sinking ship. there were too big volumes for the coin to be abandoned

I don't think CoinKite had much to do with it.  Moolah.io has supported Auroracoin from before the launch with similar products (although not the POS machine).
What's moolah? Oh, a website ranked 300k+ on Alexa. They delisted BC, because, they said:

"BC doesn't have enough volume on our website"

Moolah is air.

Hey, smexy. Don't waste your time. Time's precious.
