Misinformation can affect movement of the market.  In my region, a rumor of fuel scarcity can cause panic buying of fuel which must affect the transport system. The media is to be blamed for magnifying human stupidity, generating fear among the market operators.

We are all not the same. There are some of us who prefer making use of charts to determine their next line of action and there are also others that choose to use the news media as their source of knowing prices and making decisions.

Whenever these news media sites gives out false information in order to cause a FUD, those who rely on it will start to withdraw out of panic cause they don’t want to lose their money. So you see? That’s how human beings can affect the price.

Everything affects a financial market. From media news to rumours, to events and accidents,etc. Of course that all these happenings have a lower or bigger impact. It is a well known fact that some of us are brighter than others, some get manipulated much easier so they get trapped in this kind of markets. Some panic sell at these prices.. News are really affecting the situation on the market, especially those related to governmental regulation of cryptocurrencies.
Crypto market is largely based on emotions of the crowd (you are right) here. Panic selling resulting in the rapid decrease of coins price is definitely a huge problem.

If the news about crypto comes from a respective company or institution these will be a big impact on the market because it could attract weak holders to dump their coins that could lead the market to go down and also it can be the barrier for these technology to grow if they always report negativity about cryptocurrency.

Definitely any stupidity like fake news and negatives affect the market, but to be fair, other market also works like that. But its really evident in our market because everything is based on pure speculation and manipulation.

I can give you a lot of fake news and FUD that has affected us, but I think most of us are already aware of that. Absolutely not, because the stupidity of people will always be in the class that is a beginner in the field, and of course that do not affect on the movement of the market because the majority of them do not have a big budget of money to trade.
