The Karmacoin community has created a currency that can be used to reward people for doing good. We see Karmacoin donation addresses appear in things like news articles about people who went above and beyond to be good. Soon after someone reads the article like that they will now have a way to reward the person who did good. In order build the community quickly so that there is currency for rewarding, there are larger bonuses for the first 400,000 blocks than after that. The founders are aligned with every individual - there has been no pre-mining.
MissionThe mission of Karmacoin is to provide a common, easy-to-use method for people to reward others for doing good things.

Traditional methods of transacting funds make it difficult to send both small and large amounts to people and causes that you care about. Giving a tip to a waitress, some small change to a stranger or a friend is easy when done in person. But over the internet it becomes impractical because of high transaction fees, which can make up a significant percentage of a small gift and, for large transactions, represent a large enough amount that could be better-utilized by the person or group receiving it.
By using Karmacoin, people can send money to help others quickly, securely, and with very low transaction costs.

3) Download the install program and run it
- The title on the main window of the install program is "Karmacoin 0.8.6.2.4 Setup"
4) To validate it installed
- Go to Help->About
- You should see Karmacoin version v0.8.6.2.4-g000002-beta at the top of the About window
- if you do not, then download the updated wallet and install again
Mac1) Close the wallet if it is running
2) Backup your wallet first!!!!
- In the wallet click on File->Backup Wallet
- Save the wallet in a safe place that no one else can get to
3) Download the install program (.pkg) and run it
4) To validate it installed
- Go to Karmacoin-Qt->About Karmacoin-Qt
- You should see Karmacoin version v0.8.6.2.4-g000002-beta at the top of the About window
- if you do not, then download the updated wallet and install again

2) Backup your wallet first!!!!
- In the wallet click on File->Backup Wallet

3) Download the debian package and run it with
- sudo dpkg -i karmacoin-0.8.6.2.4-amd64.deb
4) To validate it installed
- Go to Help->About
- You should see Karmacoin version v0.8.6.2.4-g000002-beta at the top of the About window
- if you do not, then download the updated wallet and install again
